Non-Adaptive Rotor Speed Estimation of Induction Machine in an Adaptive Full-Order Observer
PublicationIn the sensorless control system of an induction machine, the rotor speed value is not measured but reconstructed by an observer structure. The rotor speed value can be reconstructed by the classical adaptive law with the integrator. The second approach, which is the main contribution of this paper, is the non-adaptive structure without an integrator. The proposed method of the rotor speed reconstruction is based on an algebraic...

Methods of measurement signal acquisition from the rotational flow meter for frequency analysis
PublicationOne of the simplest and commonly used instruments for measuring the flow of homogeneous substances is the rotational flow meter. The main part of such a device is a rotor (vane or screw) rotating at a speed which is the function of the fluid or gas flow rate. A pulse signal with a frequency proportional to the speed of the rotor is obtained at the sensor output. For measurements in dynamic conditions, a variable interval between...

Seaweed as a resource for Anaerobic Digestion
PublicationExtensive growth of algae contributes to disruptive changes to the water ecosystems. This is mainly caused by redundant nutrients that are washed off the land and end up in waters. Tackling eutrophication by recovery of nutrients can be a solution to the problem. Cast marine biomass can be a resource for renewable energy technologies like anaerobic digestion. Such approach can contribute to the transition to a circular bio-economy and...

Quality of Analytical Results: Classifiying Errors and Estimating Measurement Uncertainty
PublicationThe most important parameter of each analytical result is its reliability. An analytical result is not a constant value; each result has two properties, error and uncertainty. The sources of both these parameters have to be known and their values determined (estimated). All analytical results are obtained by applying an appropriate measuring procedure. The need for reliable results requires application of reliable analytical procedures,...
