Representing and appraising Toulmin model arguments in trust cases
PublicationThe paper presents a Toulmin-based argument model used in trust cases, which allows to argue various properties of IT systems. Argument patterns encountered in trust cases are discussed together with some real-life examples. A method of argument appraisal is introduced together with the corresponding aggregation mechanism. Selective jamming of OFDM transmission in NB-IoT radio interface
PublicationThe paper presents the concept of smart jamming, which involves selective interference aimed at critical components of the OFDM signal. Research verifying the feasibility of this type of electronic attack are described. A realized testbed for jamming real NB-IoT signals in a downlink is presented. The test results demonstrate the feasibility of realizing selective jamming and its greater effectiveness compared to barrage interference.

Numerical Analysis of the Unsteady Propeller Performance in the Ship Wake Modified by Different Wake Improvement Devices
PublicationThe paper presents summary of numerical analysis of the unsteady propeller forces and induced pressure pulses generated by the selected real propeller of 7000 tons product tanker, operating in five different wakefields including four inflenced by the different wake improvement devices. The results of the analysis are partly compared with experimental data and univocal conclusions about the optimum wake improvement device are presented.

Fast clutter cancellation for noise radars via waveform design
PublicationCanceling clutter is an important, but very expensive part of signal processing in noise radars. It is shown that considerable improvements can be made to a simple least squares canceler if minor constraints are imposed onto noise waveform. Using a combination of FPGA and CPU, the proposed scheme is capable of canceling both stationary clutter and moving targets in real-time, even for high sampling rates.

Path Loss Measurements in Wideband Radio Link Designed for Maritime Environment
PublicationIn the article, the research and analysis of path loss in designed and evaluated digital radio link for high-speed data transmission in maritime environment is presented. Collected samples of received signal were used to determine the mean path loss and its standard deviation. Measuring campaign was carried out in a real maritime conditions.
