Visible light-enhanced degradation of phenol in the presence of modified TiO2
PublikacjaOpracowano metody otrzymywania katalizatora na bazie tlenku tytanu (IV) aktywowanego światłem widzialnym do fotokatalitycznego utleniania zanieczyszczeń. Tlenek tytanu (IV) modyfikowano wybranymi organicznymi i nieorganicznymi domieszkami. Aktywność fotokatalityczną otrzymanych próbek katalizatorów zbadano w reakcji degradacji fenolu (co= 0,21 mmol/dm3) w roztworze wodnym, w obecności światła widzialnego (l>400). Wybrane katalizatory...

Synthesis of Phosphonated Carbon Nanotubes: New Insight into Carbon Nanotubes Functionalization
PublikacjaCarbon nanotubes were successfully functionalized for the first time in a free radical phosphonylation reaction. Three synthetic protocols were proposed. Carbon nanotubes and diethylphosphite reacted in the presence of known radical initiator, such as azobisisobutyronitrile, single electron oxidant—Mn(OAc)3, or under UV radiation. The functionalized material was fully characterized by means of spectroscopic methods, together with...

NOBLE METAL MODIFIED TiO2 FOR PHOTOCATALYTIC AIR PURIFICATION
PublikacjaTiO2 was surface modified with silver, gold, palladium and platinum ion clusters to improve its photocatalytic activity. The effect of metal content, the kind of dopant used during preparation procedure on the photoactivity were investigated. in toluene removal which was used as a model volatile organic compound. Toluene, at the concentration of about 100 ppm, was irradiated over noble metal modified TiO2 using light-emitting diodes...

Preparation and characterization of TiO2 nanostructures for catalytic CO2 photoconversion
PublikacjaThe titanium dioxide target (99.7%) of 1 cm in dia was ablated in vacuum by laser pulses(6 ns) at 266 nm and at repetition rate of 10 Hz. During deposition the laser fluence between 1 and 3.5 J/cm2 and the O2 pressure from the range of 10-2 - 1 Pa were applied. The thin TiO2 films were deposited on glass substrate (1 × 1 cm2) heated up to 500 °C. The chemical composition of the film and samples produced by annealing were investigated...

Au-RE-TiO2 nanocomposites: Surface characteristics and photoactivity
PublikacjaThe photocatalysts based on TiO2 co-doped with rare earth metal (RE) and gold nanoparticles have been prepared using a sol-gel method and followed by gold reduction. Specific surface areas of the modified photocatalysts were calculated by the Brunauer-Emmett-Teller method (BET). Diffuse reflectance spectra of the obtained photocatalysts were recorded in a UV-Vis spectrophotometer (DRS UV-Vis). The influence of the type of rare...

Progress, Challenge, and Perspective of Bimetallic TiO2-Based Photocatalysts
PublikacjaBimetallic TiO2-based photocatalysts have attracted considerable attention in recent years as a class of highly active catalysts and photocatalysts under both UV and Vis light irradiation. Bimetallic noble metal structures deposited on TiO2 possess the ability to absorb visible light, in a wide wavelength range (broad LSPR peak), and therefore reveal the highest level of activity as a result of utilization of a large amount of...
