Woda jako element przyrodniczy w przestrzeni zamieszkiwania. Ideowe formy architektoniczne
PublikacjaMożna obecnie zaobserwować nasilające się zjawisko pozamiejskich migracji. Sprzyja im dogodność warunków zamieszkiwania poza miastem. Pojezierze Kaszubskie to obszar, gdzie powstaje wiele pozamiejskich, czasowo zamieszkiwanych domów. Często lokowane są one pobliżu jezior i rzek. Wydaje się, że woda stanowi szczególny walor tych miejsc. Nawiązywane poprzez nią relacje i poczucie współuczestnictwa skłoniły do poszukiwania szczególnych...

Broadcast copies reveal the quantumness of correlations
PublikacjaWe study the quantumness of bipartite correlations by proposing a quantity that combines a measure of total correlations-mutual information-with the notion of broadcast copies-i.e., generally nonfactorized copies-of bipartite states. By analyzing how our quantity increases with the number of broadcast copies, we are able to classify classical, separable, and entangled states. This motivates the definition of the broadcast regularization...

Most of the author’s attention has been focused upon recognizing the types and functions of the hand written comments left in the margins of the books by the Italian humanist. The role of the annotations has been seen as...

Comparison of centralized and decentralized preemption in MPLS networks
PublikacjaPreemption is one of the crucial parts of the traffic engineering in MPLS networks. It enables allocation of high-priority paths even if the bandwidth on the preferred route is exhausted. This is achieved by removing previously allocated low-priority traffic, so as enough free bandwidth becomes available. The preemption can be performed either as a centralized or a decentralized process. In this article we discuss the differences...

Equitable coloring of corona products of graphs
PublikacjaIn this paper we consider an equitable coloring of some corona products of graphs G and H in symbols, G o H). In particular, we show that deciding the colorability of G o H is NP-complete even if G is 4-regular and H is K_2. Next, we prove exact values or upper bounds on the equitable chromatic number of G o H, where G is an equitably 3- or 4-colorable graph and H is an r-partite graph, a path, a cycle or a complete graph.

Separability in terms of a single entanglement witness
PublikacjaThe separability problem is formulated in terms of a characterization of a single entanglement witness. More specifically, we show that any (in general multipartite) state rho is separable if and only if a specially constructed entanglement witness W-rho is weakly optimal, i.e., its expectation value vanishes on at least one product vector. Interestingly, the witness can always be chosen to be decomposable. Our result changes the...

Aggregation of Rhodamine 6G in titanium dioxide nanolayers and bulk xerogels
PublikacjaNanolayers and bulk xerogels of Rhodamine 6G (Rh6G) in titanium dioxide (Rh6G/TiO2) were prepared using the sol–gel method. The spectroscopic and structural properties of these two types of hybrid matrices were studied as a function of dye concentration. In both cases absorption, fluorescence and time resolved emission spectra show the formation of fluorescent aggregates. The observed stronger changes in characteristics of bulk...

Storing thermal energy from solar collectors for the needs of a detached house
PublikacjaThis work evaluates the possibility of meeting a single familu household's need for hot water and heat year round, using solar collectors as the sole energy sourse. The main flaw of energetic systems based on solar energy is that the energy supply is usually insufficient in winter, when it is most needed. This work is going to show thatm for a house surface of 150 m2 and base dimension of 10x10m, it is possible to supply sufficient...

The shape of an ROC curve in the evaluation of credit scoring models
PublikacjaThe AUC, i.e. the area under the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve, or its scaled version, the Gini coefficient, are the standard measures of the discriminatory power of credit scoring. Using binormal ROC curve models, we show how the shape of the curves affects the economic benefits of using scoring models with the same AUC. Based on the results, we propose that the shape parameter of the fitted ROC curve is reported...

Infinite chromatic games
PublikacjaIn the paper we introduce a new variant of the graph coloring game and a new graph parameter being the result of the new game. We study their properties and get some lower and upper bounds, exact values for complete multipartite graphs and optimal, often polynomial-time strategies for both players provided that the game is played on a graph with an odd number of vertices. At the end we show that both games, the new and the classic...

Ellipticity of gradient poroelasticity
PublikacjaWe discuss the ellipticity properties of an enhanced model of poroelastic continua called dilatational strain gradient elasticity. Within the theory there exists a deformation energy density given as a function of strains and gradient of dilatation. We show that the equilibrium equations are elliptic in the sense of Douglis–Nirenberg. These conditions are more general than the ordinary and strong ellipticity but keep almost all...
