Rough Set Based Modeling and Visualization of the Acoustic Field Around the Human Head
PublicationThe presented research aims at modeling acoustical wave propagation phenomena by applying rough set theory in a novel manner. In a typical listening environment sound intensity is determined by numerous factors: a distance from a sound source, signal levels and frequencies, obstacles’ locations and sizes. Contrarily, a free-field is characterized by direct, unimpeded propagation of the acoustical waves. The proposed approach is...

Ensembling noisy segmentation masks of blurred sperm images
PublicationBackground: Sperm tail morphology and motility have been demonstrated to be important factors in determining sperm quality for in vitro fertilization. THE DETERMINATION OF ABRASION RESISTANCE OF SELECTED BIOMATERIALS FOR THE FRICTION PAIRS IN THE HIP JOINT ENDOPROSTHESIS
PublicationThe key requirement for the modern endoprosthesis is high durability of the friction components, which results in long and trouble-free operation in the human body. The durability of currently used endoprosthesis is often limited by tribological wear processes of friction components (e.g. between the head and the acetabular component in a hip joint endoprosthesis) [8, 19, 23, 24]. In order to compare the tribological wear, tribological...
