Finite-window RLS algorithms
PublikacjaTwo recursive least-squares (RLS) adaptive filtering algorithms are most often used in practice, the exponential and sliding (rectangular) window RLS algorithms. This popularity is mainly due to existence of low-complexity versions of these algorithms. However, these two windows are not always the best choice for identification of fast time-varying systems, when the identification performance is most important. In this paper, we...

PublikacjaPrzedstawiono analizę osiowo symetrycznej struktury otwartego rezonatora he-misferycznego zawierającego warstwowe ośrodki dielektryczne. W analizie wy-korzystano metodę różnic skończonych w dziedzinie częstotliwości (FDFD). Wcelu osiągnięcia wysokiej dokładności obliczeń zastosowano zaawansowane me-tody modelowania warunków brzegowych i granicznych.

Finite automata for compact representation of tuple dictionaries.

Dynamic Perfect hashing with finite-state automata

Hybrid Finite Element Method Development for Offshore Structures’ Calculation with the Implementation of Industry Standards
PublikacjaIn the design process of offshore steel structures, it is typical to employ commercial calculation codes in which simulation and evaluation of results are performed on the basis of the available standards (e.g. API, DNV, Lloyds). The modeling and solution rely on finite element methods and cover the simulation of the structure’s properties along with the influence of the marine environment – sea currents, wave and wind loading,...

Biomechanics of Lumbar Spine Injury in Road Barrier Collision–Finite Element Study
PublikacjaLiterature and field data from CIREN database have shown that lumbar spine injuries occur during car crashes. There are multiple hypotheses regarding how they occur; however, there is no biomechanical explanation for these injuries during collisions with road safety barriers (RSBs). Therefore, the objective of this study was to investigate the mechanics of vertebral fractures during car collisions with concrete RSBs. The finite...

The finite difference methods of computation of X-rays propagation through a system of many lenses
PublikacjaThe propagation of X-ray waves through an optical system consisting of many beryllium X-ray refrac- tive lenses is considered. In order to calculate the propagation of electromagnetic in the optical sys- tem, two differential equations are considered. First equation for an electric field of a monochromatic wave and the second equation derived for complex phase of the same electric The propagation of X-ray waves through an optical system...

Finite element modeling of plastic hinges based on ductility demand-capacity method using nonlinear material for dynamic analysis
PublikacjaThe article discusses modeling plastic hinges in reinforced concrete interme-diate supports using finite elements methods. The ductility demand-capacitymethod was used to determine the geometrical parameters of cross-section plas-ticization zones, their ability to move and rotate, as well as their ductility. Dueto the varied geometry and stiffness of the supports and their nonlinear behav-ior under dynamic load, this method was...

Structural properties of foil bearings: a closed-form solution validated with finite element analysis
PublikacjaFluid film thickness in a compliant foil bearing is greatly influenced by the deflection of the bearing structure. Therefore, in order to properly model performance of a foil bearing, it is mandatory that the deflection of the compliant bearing structure due to the generated hydrodynamic pressure is determined accurately. This article proposes an easy-to-use two-dimensional model, which takes into account detailed geometry of the...

Rigid finite elements and multibody modeling in analyses of a robot shaped elastic/plastic deformations of a beam
PublikacjaDynamics analysis of a system composed of a parallel manipulator and of an elastic beam is presented in the paper. Classic 3RRR parallel manipulator is considered and used to deform the beam. Elasto-plastic deformations are investigated. Rigid-finite-elements technique is employed to deal with dynamics of the beam. A multibody structure is associated with the introduced hybrid system in order to model its dynamics. Idea of the...

Finite-difference time-domain analyses of active cloaking for electrically-large objects
PublikacjaInvisibility cloaking devices constitute a unique and potentially disruptive technology, but only if they can work over broad bandwidths for electrically-large objects. So far, the only known scheme that allows for broadband scattering cancellation from an electrically-large object is based on an active implementation where electric and magnetic sources are deployed over a surface surrounding the object, but whose ‘switching on’...

High frequency dynamics of an isotropic Timoshenko periodic beam by the use of the Time-domain Spectral Finite Element Method
PublikacjaIn this work results of numerical simulations and experimental measurements related to the high frequency dynamics of an aluminium Timoshenko periodic beam are presented. It was assumed by the authors that the source of beam structural periodicity comes from periodical alterations to its geometry due to the presence of appropriately arranged drill-holes. As a consequence of these alterations dynamic characteristics of the beam...

Study of the Effectiveness of Model Order Reduction Algorithms in the Finite Element Method Analysis of Multi-port Microwave Structures
PublikacjaThe purpose of this paper is to investigate the effectiveness of model order reduction algorithms in finite element method analysis of multi-port microwave structures. Consideration is given to state of the art algorithms, i.e. compact reduced-basis method (CRBM), second-order Arnoldi method for passive-order reduction (SAPOR), reduced-basis methods (RBM) and subspace-splitting moment-matching MOR (SSMM-MOR)

Jacobi and gauss-seidel preconditioned complex conjugate gradient method with GPU acceleration for finite element method
PublikacjaIn this paper two implementations of iterative solvers for solving complex symmetric and sparse systems resulting from finite element method applied to wave equation are discussed. The problem under investigation is a dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) discretized by FEM with vector elements of the second order (LT/QN). The solvers use the preconditioned conjugate gradient (pcg) method implemented on Graphics Processing Unit (GPU)...

Determinants of the primary stability of cementless acetabular cup implants: A 3D finite element study
PublikacjaPrimary stability of cementless implants is crucial for the surgical success and long–term stability. However, primary stability is difficult to quantify in vivo and the biomechanical phenomena occurring during the press–fit insertion of an acetabular cup (AC) implant are still poorly understood. The aim of this study is to investigate the influence of the cortical and trabecular bone Young's moduli Ec and Et, the interference...
