The vortex flow caused by sound in a bubbly liquid
PublicationGeneration of vorticity in the field of intense sound in a bubbly liquid in the free half-space is considered. The reasons for generation of vorticity are nonlinearity, diffraction, and dispersion. Acoustic streaming differs from that in a Newtonian fluid. Under some conditions, the vortex flow changes its direction. Conclusions concern streaming induced by a harmonic or an impulse Gaussian beam.

Tailoring Defects in B, N-Codoped Carbon Nanowalls for Direct Electrochemical Oxidation of Glyphosate and its Metabolites
PublicationTailoring the defects in graphene and its related carbon allotropes has great potential to exploit their enhanced electrochemical properties for energy applications, environmental remediation, and sensing. Vertical graphene, also known as carbon nanowalls (CNWs), exhibits a large surface area, enhanced charge transfer capability, and high defect density, making it suitable for a wide range of emerging applications. However, precise...

A remark on singular sets of vector bundle morphisms
PublicationIf characteristic classes for two vector bundles over the same base space do not coincide, then the bundles are not isomorphic. We give under rather common assumptions a lower bound on the topological dimension of the set of all points in the base over which a morphism between such bundles is not bijective. Moreover, we show that this set is topologically non-trivial.

Prevalence Problem in the Set of Quadratic Stochastic Operators Acting on L1
PublicationThis paper is devoted to the study of the problem of prevalence in the class of quadratic stochastic operators acting on the L1 space for the uniform topology. We obtain that the set of norm quasi-mixing quadratic stochastic operators is a dense and open set in the topology induced by a very natural metric. This shows the typical long-term behaviour of iterates of quadratic stochastic operators.

A place of school in the idea of the sustainable development
PublicationWell designed school space enables social contacts, increases activity of pupils and improves the condition of their health. However, the best design would not bring the expected benefits if it is not integrated with the surroundings in terms of transportation, security and local needs. In the sustainable development, the social goals are in harmony with ecological aims according to the rule of "3 r" (reduce, reuse, recycle).

Anisotropic Orlicz–Sobolev spaces of vector valued functions and Lagrange equations
PublicationIn this paper we study some properties of anisotropic Orlicz and Orlicz–Sobolev spaces of vector valued functions for a special class of G-functions. We introduce a variational setting for a class of Lagrangian Systems. We give conditions which ensure that the principal part of variational functional is finitely defined and continuously differentiable on Orlicz–Sobolev space.

Container port expansion towards the sea in the context of maritime spatial planning
PublicationThe growth of ships causes a significant increase in demand for new port surfaces and demands for the depths of water bodies in the ports. Due to technological changes in the transshipment and development pressure ports lacks space and they move towards the sea with their activities. The paper discusses the reasons for the phenomenon of expansion of ports towards the sea and its effects on maritime spatial planning.

Laboratory research on the influence of swelling clay on the quality of borehole cementing and evaluation of clay-cutting wellbore tool prototype
PublicationSwelling clay phenomenon is frequently observed during oil and gas drilling operations and has a significant impact on the quality of cementing procedure. Certain types of clayey minerals increase their volume in contact with water-based drilling fluids. After drilling is completed, borehole remains unsupported and filled with waterbased drilling fluids for several hours, before a casing string is inserted and secured with cement....

Revitalized Mill Island in Bydgoszcz - the identity of the place created by the Brda River and its tributary named Młynowka
PublicationMill Island in Bydgoszcz, Poland is an example of downtown public space where a meander of the Młynówka creates the identity of the area. Before 2005, the only outstanding local feature was the fact that its south and west ends resembled the Venetian canals. The way the other parts of Mill Island were managed was inappropriate for a downtown.A comprehensive revitalization programme is returning Mill Island public space to residents,...

Constructive entanglement test from triangle inequality
PublicationWe derive a simple lower bound on the geometric measure of entanglement for mixed quantum states in the case of a general multipartite system. The main ingredient of the presented derivation is the triangle inequality applied to the root infidelity distance in the space of density matrices. The obtained bound leads to entanglement criteria with a straightforward interpretation. The proposed criteria provide an experimentally accessible,...

A note on an approximative scheme of finding almost homoclinic solutions for Newtonian systems
PublicationIn this work we will be concerned with the existence of an almost homoclinic solution for a perturbed Newtonian system in a finite dimensional space. It is assumed that a potential is C^1 smooth and its gradient is bounded with respect to a time variable. Moreover, a forcing term is continuous, bounded and squere integrable. We will show that the appproximative scheme due to J. Janczewska for a time periodic potential extends to...
