Analysis of graphene multi-strip planar guiding structures with the use of spectral domain approach
PublikacjaSpectral domain approach is modified and used to analyze some simple structures containing graphene strips. The modification is simple and concerns the Green’s function only. Moreover, the method is combined with the recently published root finding algorithms, which significantly improve the efficiency of the analysis. The results obtained for a simple guiding structure is verified and the field displacement effect is confirmed.

Chemical Aspects of Biological Activity of Isothiocyanates and Indoles, the Products of Glucosinolate Decomposition
PublikacjaThere is growing evidence that cancer chemoprevention employing natural, bioactive compounds may halt or at least slow down the different stages of carcinogenesis. A particularly advantageous effect is attributed to derivatives of sulfur-organic phytochemicals, such as glucosinolates (GLs) synthesized mainly in Brassicaceae plant family. GLs are hydrolysed enzymatically to bioactive isothiocyanates (ITC) and indoles, which exhibit strong...

FEM analysis of composite materials failure in nonlinear six field shell theory
PublikacjaThe monography deals with the problem of failure initiation in thin laminated composites. Known techniques of laminate structures modelling are briefly characterised. Eventually, shell based approach is chosen for the purpose of the description of the composite structures behaviour, as it predicts their deformation and states of stress effectively in a global sense. The nonlinear six parameter shell theory (6p theory) with asymmetric...

Functional properties of packaging materials from chemical modified stach.
PublikacjaThis work is focused on study of the mechanical and barrier properties of films obtained from potato starch modified with sodium tetrahydroxozincate generated in situ. The results show that the chemical modification of starch improved the water vapor permeability by about 25%, unfortunately decreased the elongation at break by 60%, when compared with unmodified starch films. However, placitization of films with glycerol at a concentration...
