On a comparison principle and the uniqueness of spectral flow
PublikacjaThe spectral flow is a well-known quantity in spectral theory that measures the variation of spectra about 0 along paths of selfadjoint Fredholm operators. The aim of this work is twofold. Firstly, we consider homotopy invariance properties of the spectral flow and establish a simple formula which comprises its classical homotopy invariance and yields a comparison theorem for the spectral flow under compact perturbations. We apply...

The equivariant spectral flow and bifurcation of periodic solutions of Hamiltonian systems
PublikacjaWe define a spectral flow for paths of selfadjoint Fredholm operators that are equivariant under the orthogonal action of a compact Lie group as an element of the representation ring of the latter. This G-equivariant spectral flow shares all common properties of the integer valued classical spectral flow, and it can be non-trivial even if the classical spectral flow vanishes. Our main theorem uses the G-equivariant spectral flow...

Some solutions of unsteady flow in bioreactor.
PublikacjaCzas regeneracji chrząstki stawowej po urazie jest długotrwały. Czasem tkanka nie regeneruje się. Dlatego też przeszczepy odgrywają bardzo ważną rolę. Najlepsze efekty hodowli tkanek zaobserwowano w bioreaktorach wykonujących ruch obrotowy i zapewniających nieustalony charakter przepływu ciecy odżywczej. Dlatego tematem niniejszego artykułu są pewne metody i rozwiązania nieustalonego przepływu cieczy w warstwie przyściennej hodowanej...

Modelling of dryout process in annular flow

The Maslov index and the spectral flow—revisited
PublikacjaWe give an elementary proof of a celebrated theorem of Cappell, Lee and Miller which relates the Maslov index of a pair of paths of Lagrangian subspaces to the spectral flow of an associated path of self-adjoint first-order operators. We particularly pay attention to the continuity of the latter path of operators, where we consider the gap-metric on the set of all closed operators on a Hilbert space. Finally, we obtain from Cappell,...

Outlet Flow Velocity In Circular Culvert
PublikacjaThe outlet flow velocity in the end section of the culvert barrel depends in most cases on the culvert geometry, including the barrel slope, as well as on upstream and downstream channel parameters. Flowing water can create pressure flow or free surface flow in the culvert barrel. In the case of an unsubmerged barrel outlet, the free-surface flow is more frequent than the full flow. Increased velocities can cause channel bed scour...

Rheology of polymer blends
PublikacjaPolymer blends are physical mixtures of two or more homopolymers or copolymers. This type of materials have wide spectrum of technological applications, and their properties are influenced, e.g., by the properties of single components and morphology of final material. The rheology of polymer blends is connected with the processing of polymer blends and is influenced by thermodynamics, morphology, and their evolution during testing....

Flow Maps and Flow Patterns of R1233zd(E) in a Circular Minichannel at Low, Medium and High Values of Saturation Pressure
PublikacjaThere is a gap in knowledge regarding the flow pattern of low-boiling working fluids in the range of high saturation temperatures (above 120°C) and medium and high reduced pressures (0.5-0.9). Data are present in the literature for similar values of reduced pressures, but for lower values of saturation temperature. This is due to the existing refrigeration applications of these working fluids. At high values of reduced pressure,...

A rational method of the considered object design is proposed, on the base of the input and dissipation energy balance., what gives a simple algebraic equation. Conformity between calcul;ated and measured parameters of the vortex valve allows for acceptation of the proposed concept.
