Synchronous black hole search in directed graphs
PublikacjaThe paper considers a team of robots which has to explore a graph G, where some nodes can be harmful. Robots are initially located at the so-called home base node. The dangerous nodes are the so-called black hole nodes, and once a robot enters in one of them, it is destroyed. The goal is to find a strategy in order to explore G in such a way that minimum number of robots is wasted. The exploration ends if there is at least one...

Removal of indicator bacteria from treated wastewater using physical and chemical methods. Pilot plant study.
PublikacjaEven after highly efficient biological processes the effluents from wastewater treatment plants may contain significant number of fecal bacteria, from 104 to 106 CFU/100 mL. Since no standards are set on the bacteriological quality of treated wastewater in Poland the elimination of bacterial contaminants is not a priority in wastewater treatment policy. Thus microbiological hazards become particularly significant in the situation...

On configuration of residue scaling process in pipelined radix-4 MQRNS FFT processor
PublikacjaResidue scaling is needed in pipelined FFT radix-4 processors based on the Modified Quadratic Residue Number System (MQRNS) at the output of each butterfly. Such processor uses serial connection of radix-4 butterflies. Each butterfly comprises n subunits, one for each modulus of the RNS base and outputs four complex residue numbers. In order to prevent the arithmetic overflow in the succesive stage, every number has to be scaled,...

Turán numbers for odd wheels
PublikacjaThe Turán number ex(n,G) is the maximum number of edges in any n-vertex graph that does not contain a subgraph isomorphic to G. A wheel W_n is a graph on n vertices obtained from a C_{n−1} by adding one vertex w and making w adjacent to all vertices of the C_{n−1}. We obtain two exact values for small wheels: ex(n,W_5)=\lfloor n^2/4+n/2\rfloor, ex(n,W_7)=\lfloor n^2/4+n/2+1 \rfloor. Given that ex(n,W_6) is already known, this...

The external factors affecting the degree of HEI inefficiency...

This paper presents an optimization algorithm for the shape design of trawl-door shapes using computational fluid dynamic (CFD) models. Accurate CFD models are computationally expensive. Therefore, the direct use of traditional optimization...
