A Control Theoretical Approach to Spectral Factorization is Unstable
PublicationLocal stability analysis of a recently proposed recursive feedback-based approach to spectral factorization is performed. The method is found not to give stability guarantees. Interestingly enough, its global behavior often allows one to obtain reasonable approximations of spectral factorizations if a suitable stopping criterion is employed.

Estimation of electrode contact in capacitive ECG measurement
PublicationIn the paper a method of electrode’s contact estimation in capacitive electrocardiogram (CECG) is presented. Proposed solution allows estimation of contact quality for each individual electrode. This enables construction of multi-electrode CECG systems, where electrode pairs can be selected on the basis of the individual electrode contact quality.

The model is implemented in two environments: Maxwell for analyzing electrodynamic phenomena including moving of the disc and Ansys which allows for stress analysis on the basis of the volume forces imported from Maxwell. Multi-core and Multiprocessor Implementation of Numerical Integration in Finite Element Method
PublicationThe paper presents techniques for accelerating a numerical integration process which appears in the Finite Element Method. The acceleration is achieved by taking advantages of multi-core and multiprocessor devices. It is shown that using multi-core implementation with OpenMP and a GPU acceleration using CUDA architecture allows one to achieve the speedups by a factor of 5 and 10 on a CPU and GPUs, respectively.

PublicationThere is considered the steam turbine governor operation during defense and restoration of the power system. It points out weaknesses of currently used governor structures.
