FPGA-Based System for Electromagnetic Interference Evaluation in Random Modulated DC/DC Converters
PublikacjaField-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) provides the possibility to design new “electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) friendly” control techniques for power electronic converters. Such control techniques use pseudo-random modulators (RanM) to control the converter switches. However, some issues connected with the FPGA-based design of RanM, such as matching the range of fixed-point numbers, might be challenging. The modern programming...

Partial hyperbolicity and central shadowing
PublikacjaWe study shadowing property for a partially hyperbolic diffeomor- phism f. It is proved that if f is dynamically coherent then any pseudotrajec- tory can be shadowed by a pseudotrajectory with “jumps” along the central foliation. The proof is based on the Tikhonov-Shauder fixed point theorem.

Relationship between GIX, SIDX, and ROTI ionospheric indices and GNSS precise positioning results under geomagnetic storms
PublikacjaIonospheric indices give information about ionospheric perturbations, which may cause absorption, diffraction, refraction, and scattering of radio signals, including those from global navigation satellite systems (GNSS). Therefore, there may be a relationship between index values and GNSS positioning results. A thorough understanding of ionospheric indices and their relationship to positioning results can help monitor and forecast...

The cohomological span of LS-Conley index
PublikacjaIn this paper we introduce a new homotopy invariant – the cohomological span of LS-Conley index. We prove the theorems on the existence of critical points for a class of strongly indefinite functionals with the gradient of the form Lx+K(x), where L is bounded linear and K is completely continuous. We give examples of Hamiltonian systems for which our methods give better results than the Morse inequalities. We also give a formula...

A Compact Basis for Reliable Fast Frequency Sweep via the Reduced-Basis Method
PublikacjaA reliable reduced-order model (ROM) for fast frequency sweep in time-harmonic Maxwell’s equations by means of the reduced-basis method is detailed. Taking frequency as a parameter, the electromagnetic field in microwave circuits does not arbitrarily vary as frequency changes, but evolves on a very low-dimensional manifold. Approximating this low-dimensional manifold by a low dimension subspace, namely, reduced-basis space, gives...

On Nonlinear Dynamic Theory of Thin Plates with Surface Stresses
PublikacjaWe discuss the modelling of dynamics of thin plates considering surface stresses according to Gurtin–Murdoch surface elasticity. Taking into account the surface mass density we derive the two-dimensional (2D) equations of motion. For the reduction of the three-dimensional (3D) motion equations to the 2D ones we use the trough-the-thickness integration procedure. As a result, the 2D dynamic parameters of the plate depend not only...

An example illustrates the main result.
