PublikacjaThe use of the coupled inductors in the multipulse matrix converter (MC) systems is described in the paper. The possible arrangements of the system are given together with the description of their operation parameters. Moreover, the influence of the system’s topology on the output power quality is also presented. The invented converter structures evaluation results are given in the form of simulation tests acquired output waveforms...

Green function diagonal for a class of heat equations
PublikacjaA construction of the heat kernel diagonal is considered as element of generalized zeta function theory, which gradient at the origin defines determinant of a differential operator in a technique for regularizing quadratic path integral. Some classes of explicit expressions of the Green function in the case of finite-gap potential coefficient of the heat equation are constructed. An algorithm and program for Mathematica are presented...

Hat problem on the cycle C4
PublikacjaThe topic of our paper is the hat problem. In that problem, each of n people is randomly tted with a blue or red hat. Then everybody can try to guess simultanously his own hat color looking at the hat colors of the other people. The team wins if at least one person guesses his hat color correctly and no one guesses his hat color wrong, otherwise the team loses. The aim is to maximize the probability of win. In this version every...

Hat problem on odd cycles
PublikacjaThe topic is the hat problem in which each of n players is randomly fitted with a blue or red hat. Then everybody can try to guess simultaneously his own hat color by looking at the hat colors of the other players. The team wins if at least one player guesses his hat color correctly, and no one guesses his hat color wrong; otherwise the team loses. The aim is to maximize the probability of a win. In this version every player can...

Approximation Strategies for Generalized Binary Search in Weighted Trees
PublikacjaWe consider the following generalization of the binary search problem. A search strategy is required to locate an unknown target node t in a given tree T. Upon querying a node v of the tree, the strategy receives as a reply an indication of the connected component of T\{v} containing the target t. The cost of querying each node is given by a known non-negative weight function, and the considered objective is to minimize the total...

Action-reaction based synthesis of acoustic wavefield equations
PublikacjaThe analysis of acoustic fields is usually based on the well-known mathematics of second order partial differential equations called wave equations. The author explores the duality and symmetry of linear fluid mechanics and develops two distinct equations of acoustics on the basis of a causal approach to local small-scale phenomena. Wavefields that are solutions of these equations have different composition, the spherical pressure...

Regularized Identification of Time-Varying FIR Systems Based on Generalized Cross-Validation
PublikacjaA new regularization method is proposed and applied to identification of time-varying finite impulse response systems. We show, that by a careful design of the regularization constraint, one can improve estimation results, especially in the presence of strong measurement noise. We also show that the the most appropriate regularization gain can be found by direct optimization of the generalized cross-validation criterion.

Estimation of Failure Initiation in Laminated Composites by means of Nonlinear Six-Field Shell Theory and FEM
PublikacjaThe monography deals with the problem of failure initiation in thin laminated composites. Known techniques of laminate structures modelling are briefly characterised. Eventually, shell based approach is chosen for the purpose of the description of the composite structures behaviour, as it predicts their deformation and states of stress effectively in a global sense. The nonlinear six parameter shell theory (6p theory) with asymmetric...

Coupled-Resonator Waveguide Filter in Quadruplet Topology With Frequency-Dependent Coupling - A Design Based on Coupling Matrix
PublikacjaThis letter presents an application of a recently developed coupling matrix synthesis technique to design of coupled-resonator filters with dispersive inter-resonator couplings. This technique is used to design a novel coupled-cavity bandpass filter. Measurements validate the design and confirm effectiveness of the synthesis method. The filter is a four-pole generalized Chebyshev filter with three transmission zeros. Resonators...

Direct modulation for conventional matrix converters using analytical signals and barycentric coordinates
PublikacjaThis paper proposes the generalized direct modulation for Conventional Matrix Converters (CMC) using the concept of analytical signals and barycentric coordinates. The paper proposes a novel approach to the Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) duty cycle computing, which allows faster prototyping of direct control algorithms. The explanation of the new idea using analytical considerations demonstrating the principles of direct voltage...

A framework for risk matrix design: A case of MASS navigation risk
PublikacjaRisk matrix, a tool for visualizing risk assessment results, is essential to facilitate the risk communication and risk management in risk-based decision-making processes related to new and unexplored socio-technical systems. The use of an appropriate risk matrix is discussed in the literature, but it is overlooked for emerging technologies such as Maritime Autonomous Surface Ships (MASS). In this study, a comprehensive framework...

Advanced Macromodel Matrix Structure Cloning for FDTD
PublikacjaWe propose an improved macromodel-based techniquefor efficient analysis of the structures based on PhotonicCrystals (PhC). The technique involves a new structure of thecoupling matrix and advanced cloning of not only the macromodel matrices, but also the coupling matrices SE and SH.The method allows one to shorten considerably the preprocessingtime, the RAM usage and also the iterating speed of performingFDTD. With this...
