Modeling of bearing capacity of footings on sand within stochastic micro-polar hypoplasticity.
PublikacjaAnalizowano numerycznie efekt wstępnego rozkładu wskaźnika porowatości na wytrzymałość i strefy ścinania w problemach fundamentów na piasku w skali modelowej. Obliczenia wykonano przy zastosowaniu stochastycznej metody elementów skończonych i mikropolarnego modelu hipoplastycznego. Wskaźnik porowatości miał formę skorelowanych pól stochastycznych. Dodatkowo obliczono efekt skali dla 3 różnych szerokości fundamentów.

Numerical modeling of quantum dynamical processes
PublikacjaIn this dissertation I present a high-precision (15, 18 or 33 decimal places) C++ implementation of quantum dynamics time propagation algorithms for both time-independent and time-dependent Hamiltonian with an inhomogeneous source term. Moreover I present an extension of both algorithms for time propagation to handle arbitrary number of coupled electronic levels. I have performed a careful validation of these implementations comparing...

Numerical Investigation on Dynamic Performance of a Multi-storey Steel Structure Model and Comparison with Experimental Results
PublikacjaShaking table testing is the most commonly adopted method to simulate earthquake forces. This approach allows us to analyze the dynamic performance and provides a valuable insight into the dynamics of building structures, which helps to improve their future safety and reliability. The present study aims to conduct a numerical evaluation of dynamic response of a multi-storey steel structure model, which was previously examined during...

Numerical methods for systems of nonlinear differential functional equations

Numerical investigations of the nonlinear waves generation in a bubble layer
PublikacjaRozważano zagadnienie propagacji fal różnych częstotliwości wewnątrz warstwy z pęcherzykami. Przedstawiono model matematyczny zjawiska oraz wyniki badań teoretycznych. Badano zmiany widma fali bieżącej i odbitej jak również zmiany amplitud wybranych harmonicznych ciśnienia tych fal w funkcji grubości warstwy i koncentracji pęcherzyków.

Evolution of artificial single-cell organisms foraging for resources in a 3-dimensional environment
PublikacjaForaging for resources is a simple cognitive task that even one-celled biological organisms can ac- complish. We present an Artificial Life system in which artificial unicellular organisms (animats) forage for food in a 3-dimensional simulated liquid environment. The movement of animats is controlled by evolving artificial gene regulatory networks encoded in linear genomes. When an animat consumes enough food, it produces offspring...

Design and investigations of a micro-turbine flow part
Publikacja-generative micro-power plant with the HFE7100 as a working medium was designed and built for experimental investigations. The heat output of the plant was assumed equal to 20 kW, while the electric output amounted to about 3kW.In the paper a multi-stage micro-turbine with partial admission of all the stages is described in detail and the results of the particular experimental investigations and numerical calculations are shown,...

Experiments and numerical modeling of meat and bone meal pyrolysis in a rotary kiln
PublikacjaThe paper presents aspects of modelling the pyrolysis of meat and bone meal (MBM) in a rotary kiln. The pyrolysis of MBM produces a solid fraction which can be used as a fuel, a liquid fraction with potential chemical applications and a low heating value gas. The meat and bone meal pyrolysis was carried out at the temperature of 900 oC. Main features of experiments and numerical model of the pyrolysis were described. The model...

Particle Shape Effect on Macroscopic Behaviour of Underground Structures: Numerical and Experimental Study
PublikacjaThe mechanical performance of underground flexible structures such as buried pipes or culverts made of plastics depend not only on the properties of the structure, but also the material surrounding it. Flexible drains can deflect by 30% with the joints staying tight, or even invert. Large deformations of the structure are difficult to model in the framework of Finite Element Method, but straightforward in Discrete Element Methods....

Theoretical consideration of free convective heat transfer from a round isothermal plate slightly inclined from the vertical
PublikacjaA semi-analytical solution of simplified Navier-Stokes and Fourier-Kirchhoff equations describing free convective heat transfer from a round isothermal surface slightly inclined from the vertical is presented. The solution is based on the assumption, typical for natural convection, that the velocity component normal to the surface is negligibly small in comparison to the tangential one. Next we neglect the nonlinear inertia force...

Performance of the flat plate solar collector operated with water-Al2O3 nanofluid
PublikacjaThis paper shows the experimental results of the performance a flat plate solar collector with water-Al2O3 nanofluid as a working fluid. The weight fractions of nanoparticles were 0.1%, 0.2% and 0.4%. The volume flow rate of nanofluid varied from 60 l/h to 170 l/h. The results show that application of nanofluids instead of pure water resulted in higher efficiency of the tested flat plate solar collector for given range of thermal...

The influence of electromagnetic pollution on living organisms – historical trends and forecasting changes
PublikacjaCurrent technologies have become a source of omnipresent electromagnetic pollution from generated electromagnetic fields and resulting electromagnetic radiation. In many cases this pollution is much stronger than any natural sources of electromagnetic fields or radiation. Wireless and radio communication, electric power transmission or devices in daily use such as smartphones, tablets and portable computers every day expose people...

Modeling the effect of electric vehicles on noise levels in the vicinity of rural road sections
PublikacjaNumerous European countries experience a steady increase in the share of electric (EV) and hybrid electric (HEV) vehicles in the traffic stream. These vehicles, often referred to as low- or zero-emission vehicles, significantly reduce air pollution in the road environment. They also have a positive effect on noise levels in city centers and in the surroundings of low-speed roads. Nevertheless, issues related to modeling noise from...

Self-Organization in Multi-Agent Systems Based on Examples of Modeling Economic Relationships between Agents
PublikacjaThe goal of the research was to observe and analyze self-organization patterns in Multi-Agent Systems (MAS) by modeling basic economic relationships between agents forming a closed loop of relations necessary for their survival. The paper describes a worked-out MAS including an example of a production cycle and used economic rules. A special focus is put on behavior rules and decision systems of an individual agent such as: product...
