Guessing Intrinsic Forwarding Trustworthiness of Wireless Ad Hoc Network Nodes
PublikacjaA novel node misbehavior detection system called GIFTED is proposed for a multihop wireless ad hoc network (WAHN) whose nodes may selfishly refuse to forward transit packets. The system guesses the nodes’ intrinsic forwarding trustworthiness (IFT) by analyzing end-to-end path performance rather than utilizing unreliable and incentive incompatible low-layer mechanisms. It can work with occasional IFT jumps, directional antennae,...

Study of Statistical Text Representation Methods for Performance Improvement of a Hierarchical Attention Network
PublikacjaTo effectively process textual data, many approaches have been proposed to create text representations. The transformation of a text into a form of numbers that can be computed using computers is crucial for further applications in downstream tasks such as document classification, document summarization, and so forth. In our work, we study the quality of text representations using statistical methods and compare them to approaches...

Niezgodność przekonań i działań menedżerów wobec pracowników w wieku 55+
PublikacjaArtykuł dotyczy problematyki postaw i działań menadżerów wobec pracowników w wieku 55+. W literaturze dotyczącej zarządzania wiekiem przytaczane są wyniki badań na temat cech charakteryzujących starszych pracowników. Porównuje się je czasami z cechami przypisywanymi pracownikom młodym. Cel prezentowanych w artykule badań sformułowany został nieco inaczej i dotyczył zweryfikowania zbieżności zalet przypisywanych starszym pracownikom...

Compressive Sensing Approach to Harmonics Detection in the Ship Electrical Network
PublikacjaThe contribution of this paper is to show the opportunities for using the compressive sensing (CS) technique for detecting harmonics in a frequency sparse signal. The signal in a ship’s electrical network, polluted by harmonic distortions, can be modeled as a superposition of a small number of sinusoids and the discrete Fourier transform (DFT) basis forms its sparse domain. According to the theory of CS, a signal may be reconstructed...

Acetate-Induced Disassembly of Spherical Iron Oxide Nanoparticle Clusters into Monodispersed Core−Shell Structures upon Nanoemulsion Fusion
PublikacjaIt has been long known that the physical encapsulation of oleic acid-capped iron oxide nanoparticles (OA−IONPs) with the etyltrimethylammonium (CTA+) surfactant induces the formation of spherical iron oxide nanoparticle clusters (IONPCs). However, the behavior and functional properties of IONPCs in chemical reactions have been largely neglected and are still not well-understood. Herein, we report an unconventional ligand-exchange...

Synthesis, physical properties and preliminary investigation of hemocompa-tibility of polyurethanes from aliphatic resources with castor oil participation
PublikacjaWykonano syntezy PUR z oligoeterodiolu, dioli małocząsteczkowych, oleju rycynowego i 4,4´diizocyjanianudicykloheksylometanu. Oznaczono właściwości mechaniczne PUR, kąty zwilżania i napięcie powierzchniowe. Opisano wstępne badania zgodności PUR z ludzką krwią oraz kalcyfikacji powierzchni PUR w warunkach statycznych in vitro. Napięcie powierzchniowe otrzymanych PUR jest zbliżone do napięcia powierzchniowego naturalnych powierzchni...

Mobility and bioavailability of mercury in sediments of the southern Baltic sea in relation to the chemical fractions of iron: Spatial and temporal patterns
PublikacjaMarine sediments play a significant role as reservoirs for mercury (Hg), a bioaccumulative toxic pollutant that poses risks to human and ecosystem health. Iron (Fe) has been recognized as an influential factor in the complexation and bioavailability of Hg in sediments. However, limited studies have investigated the interactions between the chemical fractions of these elements in natural settings. This study aims to examine the...

TOXIC GASES IDENTIFICATION USING SINGLE ELECTROCATALYTIC SENSOR RESPONSES AND ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORK
PublikacjaThe need for precise detection of toxic gases drives development of new gas sensors structures and methods of processing the output signals from the sensors. In literature, artificial neural networks are considered as one of the most effective tool for the analysis of gas sensors or sensors arrays responses. In this paper a method of toxic gas components identification using a electrocatalytic gas sensor as a detector and an artificial...

Hydrodynamic reanalysis of ice conditions in the Baltic Sea using the PM3D model
Dane BadawczeThe dataset contains the results of numerical modeling of sea ice in the Baltic Sea since 1998. A long-term reanalysis was performed using the three-dimensional hydrodynamic model PM3D (Kowalewski and Kowalewska-Kalkowska, 2017), a new version of the M3D model (Kowalewski, 1997). A numerical dynamic-thermodynamic model of sea ice (Herman et al. 2011)...
