Free convection of water-Al2O3 nanofluid from horizontal porous coated tube
PublikacjaNanofluids are expected to enhance heat transfer in many thermal systems. Present efforts are concentrated on boiling heat transfer of nanofluids, although single phase convection is of key importance in various appliances such as car radiators or heating systems. This paper presents experimental results of heat transfer during free convection of water-Al3O3 nanofluid from horizontal tube covered with metallic porous coating. Contrary...

Capacitively coupled ECG measurements - a CMRR circuit improvement
PublikacjaA typical galvanic-connected electrocardiogram (ECG) measurement system utilizes two signal’s electrodes and a third one in driven-right-leg (DRL) circuit for improving a common-mode rejection ratio(CMRR) of the acquisition system. In capacitive-coupled ECG similar techniques are used, however it is expected, that the utilized DRL subsystem is formed using a capacitive coupling approach, too. An improvement of the acquisition system...

A risk comparison framework for autonomous ships navigation
PublikacjaMaritime autonomous surface ships (MASS) may operate in three predefined operational modes (OM): manual, remote, or autonomous control. Determining the appropriate OM for MASS is important for operators and competent authorities that monitor and regulate maritime traffic in given areas. However, a science-based approach to this respect is currently unavailable. To assist the selection of the proper OM, this study presents a risk-based...

The effect of circular saw blade clamping diameter on its resonant frequencies
PublikacjaIn this paper results of comparison of characteristic resonant frequencies of circular saw blades as a function of saw clamping diameter from the impact test are presented. Obtained results revealed that proportionally with the increase of the saw clamping diameter also the dynamical stiffness of the saw blade increased. As a consequence of that the resonant frequencies of the saw blade move to higher values. Moreover, with the...
