Multi-objective optimization of expensive electromagnetic simulation models
PublicationVast majority of practical engineering design problems require simultaneous handling of several criteria. For the sake of simplicity and through a priori preference articulation one can turn many design tasks into single-objective problems that can be handled using conventional numerical optimization routines. Comparison of state feedback and PID control of pressurizer water level in nuclear power plant
PublicationThe pressurizer water level control system in nuclear power plant with pressurized water reactor (PWR) is responsible for coolant mass balance. The main control goal is to stabilize the water level at a reference value and to suppress the effect of time-varying disturbances (e.g. coolant leakage in primary circuit pipeline system). In the process of PWR power plant operation incorrect water level may disturb pressure control or...

Multi-headed chimera states in coupled pendula
PublicationWe discuss the occurrence of the chimera states in the network of coupled, excited by the clock’s mechanisms pendula. We find the patterns of multi-headed chimera states in which pendula clustered in different heads behave differently (oscillate with different frequencies) and create different types of synchronous states (complete or phase synchronization). The mathematical model of the network shows that the observed chimera states...

Objectivity in a Noisy Photonic Environment through Quantum State Information Broadcasting
PublicationRecently, the emergence of classical objectivity as a property of a quantum state has been explicitly derived for a small object embedded in a photonic environment in terms of a spectrum broadcast form—a specific classically correlated state, redundantly encoding information about the preferred states of the object in the environment. However, the environment was in a pure state and the fundamental problem was how generic and robust...
