Solid Oxide Fuel Cells with Ni infiltrated perovskite anode
PublicationNiobium-doped strontium titanate was used as the anode for a solid oxide fuel cell. Electrolyte-supported cells were prepared with pure perovskite and composite perovskite–yttria–stabilized-zirconia (YSZ) anodes. Fuel cell tests demonstrated significant improvement in power density after infiltration with a small amount of Ni. The obtained values of power densities are comparable with conventional Ni/YSZ cermet anode. In addition,...

Five-phase induction motor drive with sine-wave filter
PublicationThe paper presents closed loop ac drive with 5 phase induction motor operating with voltage source inverter and sine wave filter. The motor supply voltages and currents have sinusoidal shape. For well known adjustable electric drives the field oriented control method with flux and speed co ntrol can be applied. In the presence of output filter both control and estimation algorithms should be modified due to sine wave filter installation....

Formation of intermetallic compounds in the solid-liquid composites of the Ga-Ni system
PublicationThe processes of formation of intermetallic compounds in the composite system of liquid gallium-nickel powder by the methods of x-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and differential thermal analysis have been studied. A change in the phase composition was discovered and the influence of thermal treatment of the composites under investigation on the phase formation processes was analyzed. The mechanism of gallium enriched...

Hydrophobic deep eutectic solvents as “green” extraction media for polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in aqueous samples
PublicationThe paper presents novel nonionic and hydrophobic deep eutectic solvents which were synthesized from natural compounds, i.e., thymol, ±camphor, decanoic and 10-undecylenic acids. Fundamental physicochemical properties of the synthesized deep eutectic solvents were determined, followed by their application as extractants in ultrasound-assisted dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction to isolate and enrich polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons...

Characterization of home-made and regional fruit wines by evaluation of correlation between selected chemical parameters
PublicationSince the last decade of the 20th century, there has been rising interest in the production of fruit wines, as evidenced by the high number of published papers and books covering this matter. When aiming to produce quality fruit wines, it is essential to evaluate the analytical parameters of the beverage. In this context, there are a large number of analyses for the evaluation of wines and fruit wines. This article characterizes...

Stabilization of the pyrochlore phase of Mn2Sb2O7 by double substitution
PublicationPolycrystalline samples of (Ce4+Mn2+3)(Ga3+Sb5+3)O14 were synthesized by a high-temperature solid-state reaction. In contrast with the parent Mn2Sb2O7 compound that adopts a rhombohedral or monoclinic structure at T > 600 °C, the pyrochlore structure of CeMn3GaSb3O14 is retained up to at least T = 1070°C. High-resolution synchrotron x-ray diffraction measurements show no sign of a superstructure or distortion from cubic symmetry...

Five-phase Induction Motor Drive Operation During Stator Phase Fault
PublicationThe article presents the most important advantages of multi-phase electric drives. The construction of a five-phase squirrel cage induction motor together with possible stator winding distribution cases is presented, which affect the properties of such motor. Increased reliability of five-phase drives was indicated. The drive operation properties were confirmed by experimental results.

Investigation of functional layers of solid oxide fuel cell anodes for synthetic biogas reforming
PublicationSolid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) are one of the most promising energy conversion devices due to their high efficiency, low pollution and fuel flexibility. Unfortunately, when hydrocarbons are used as a fuel, for example in the form of a biogas, solid carbon can deposit on the anode surface. This process leads to the degradation of the fuel cell performance. A possible solution to this problem is to apply an additional catalytic material,...

Evaluation of the Impact of Storage Conditions on the Biogenic Amines Profile in Opened Wine Bottles
PublicationA survey of biogenic amine (BA) profiles in opened wine bottles has been established to monitor the level of biogenic amines (BAs) in opened bottles against time and other conditions. Bottles of red and white wine were submitted to different temperatures, stopper type (screw cap, cork), and use of vacuum devices. A total of six wines made from a variety of grapes were obtained from vineyards from regions across Poland. Dispersive...
