Concept of Compatibility Region for the Evaluation of IR UWB Electromagnetic Compatibility
PublicationThis paper presents a new proposal for the unified evaluation of ultra wideband and narrowband radio communication systems electromagnetic compatibility, called “compatibility region”. The idea of compatibility region is based on the relation between the ratio of narrowband to ultra wideband signal power in a receiver and some transmission quality indicators (bit error rate, effective data rate).

Edge-coloring of 3-uniform hypergraphs
PublicationWe consider edge-colorings of 3-uniform hypergraphs which is a natural generalization of the problem of edge-colorings of graphs. Various classes of hypergraphs are discussed and we make some initial steps to establish the border between polynomial and NP-complete cases. Unfortunately, the problem appears to be computationally difficult even for relatively simple classes of hypergraphs.

PublicationThe paper presents selected examples of recently completed steel structures in Poland. These are roofs over sport stadiums, construction of public buildings and bridges. Described examples do not exhaust the acquis in the field of steel constructions in Poland. Determiantion of optimal conditions for the isolation of oil from the fishing industry offal
PublicationFish processing generates significant amounts of offal, which usually is converted into fodder meal or is stored into landfills. However, some part of this offal could serve as a source of valuable products, such as fish oil, collagen or gelatin. the aim of the study was to determine the conditions of oil isolation from salmon skins ensuring high yield and quality of the product.

Analysis of graphene multi-strip planar guiding structures with the use of spectral domain approach
PublicationSpectral domain approach is modified and used to analyze some simple structures containing graphene strips. The modification is simple and concerns the Green’s function only. Moreover, the method is combined with the recently published root finding algorithms, which significantly improve the efficiency of the analysis. The results obtained for a simple guiding structure is verified and the field displacement effect is confirmed.

Anisotropic Orlicz–Sobolev spaces of vector valued functions and Lagrange equations
PublicationIn this paper we study some properties of anisotropic Orlicz and Orlicz–Sobolev spaces of vector valued functions for a special class of G-functions. We introduce a variational setting for a class of Lagrangian Systems. We give conditions which ensure that the principal part of variational functional is finitely defined and continuously differentiable on Orlicz–Sobolev space.

On the use of a charge balancing method for low energy measurements
PublicationThe paper presents the method for the estimation of the energy consumption of the low-power microcontroller-based devices. Due to high dynamics of the changes of the supply current of the tested devices during the operational cycle, the consumed energy estimation is not easy. In order to avoid disadvantages of known methods, the charge balancing method was employed similarly like in some types of A/D converters.

PublicationIn the title compound, C13H12N2S·C3H6O, the phenyl rings of the thiourea molecule are in syn and anti positions in relation to the C=S bond. Two molecules are connected by N-HS=C hydrogen bonds into a centrosymmetric dimer. An additional N-HO=C hydrogen bond to the acetone solvent molecule and some weak C-H interactions reinforce the crystal structure.

The structure of the data flow in integrated urban traffic management systems – the case of TRISTAR system
PublicationThe purpose of the article is to offer some insight into the data flow architecture in the Tri-City’s integrated traffic management system called TRISTAR. To that end selected elements of TRISTAR are identified and described as well as the structure for collecting and exchanging data within different sub-systems. Influence of edge subdivision on the convex domination number
PublicationWe study the influence of edge subdivision on the convex domination number. We show that in general an edge subdivision can arbitrarily increase and arbitrarily decrease the convex domination number. We also find some bounds for unicyclic graphs and we investigate graphs G for which the convex domination number changes after subdivision of any edge in G.

Equitable coloring of corona multiproducts of graphs
PublicationWe give some results regarding the equitable chromatic number for l-corona product of two graphs: G and H, where G is an equitably 3- or 4-colorable graph and H is an r-partite graph, a cycle or a complete graph. Our proofs lead to polynomial algorithms for equitable coloring of such graph products provided that there is given an equitable coloring of G.

Dedicated scheduling of tasks to minimize mean flow time
PublicationThis paper investigates the complexity of scheduling biprocessor tasks on dedicated processors to minimize mean flow time. Since the general problem is strongly NP-hard, we assume some restrictions on task lengths and the structure of associated scheduling graphs. Of particular interest are acyclic graphs. In this way we identify a borderline between NP-hard and polynomially solvable special cases.
