W kompleksowym anionie tego związku atom kadmu jest koordynowany przez cztery jony bromkowe tak, że cały układ przyjmuje kształt tetraedru z wszystkimi kątami Br-Cd-Br równymi 109.8o. Długość wiązania Cd-Br wynosząca 2.591Å jest typowa dla układów zawierających jako anion [CdBr4]2-.
