The tracking problem of the DO concentration is one of the most fundamental issues in biological wastewater treatment. Proper DO concentration control is necessary to achieve adequate...

The realization of ASON/GMPLS control plane
PublikacjaASON (Automatic Switched Optical Network) is a concept of optical network recommended in G.8080/Y.1304 by ITU-T. Control Plane of this network could be based on GMPLS (Generalized Multi-Protocol Label Switching) protocols like RSVP-TE, OSPF-TE, LMP. This solution is named ASON/GMPLS. In this chapter we present the control plane problems and proposes ASON/GMPLS network realization that are tested on testbed consists of three and...

A predictive estimation based control strategy for a quasi-resonant dc-link inverter
PublikacjaIn this paper the predictive estimation based control strategy for a quasi-resonant dc link inverter (PQRDCLI) is developed. Instead of direct measurement of dc link input inverter current – its estimation with one step prediction is applied. The PQRDCLI fed induction motor, controlled with a predictive current estimation stabilized inverter output voltage slopes independently of load. Moreover, reduction of overvoltage spikes...

Imaging of graphene surface by means of tapping mode AFM
Dane BadawczeGraphene [1] is a material consisting of carbon planes with a hexagonal structure. One of the facts of interest from a purely scientific point of view is the very high mobility of electrons in the described material, allowing the study of relativistic effects inside a solid sample. Other features, such as bactericidal activity, make graphene an interesting...

Optimizing control by robustly feasible model predictive control and application to drinking water distribution systems
PublikacjaThe paper considers optimizing Model Predictive Control (MPC) for nonlinear plants with output constraints under uncertainties. Although the MPC technology can handle the constraints in the model by solving constraint model based optimization task, satisfying the plant output constraints under the model uncertainty still remains a challenge. The paper proposes Robustly Feasible MPC (RFMPC), which achieves feasibility of the outputs...

Modeling of Common Mode Currents Induced by Motor Cable in Converter Fed AC Motor Drives
PublikacjaInvestigation of conducted EMI generation in AC motor fed by pulse width modulated frequency converters requires to consider parasitic capacitances in converters, motor windings and feeding cables to be taken into account. Motor voltage transients and related common mode currents are significantly correlated with resonance effects occurring in load circuits. An analysis of frequency converter load impedance-frequency characteristics...

Genetic Hybrid Predictive Controller for Optimized Dissolved-Oxygen Tracking at Lower Control Level
PublikacjaA hierarchical two-level controller for dissolvedoxygenreference trajectory tracking in activated sludge processeshas been recently developed and successfully validated on a realwastewater treatment plant. The upper level control unit generatestrajectories of the desired airflows to be delivered by theaeration system to the aerobic zones of the biological reactor. Anonlinear model predictive control algorithm is applied to designthis...

A reliable synthesis of discrete-time H-inf control. Part I: basic theorems and J-lossless conjugators
PublikacjaThe paper gives a basis for solving many problems of numerically reliable synthesis of sub-optimal discrete-time control in H-inf. The approach is based on J-lossless factorisation of the delta-domain chain-scattering description of continuous-time plants being controlled. Relevant properties of poles and zeroes of chain-scattering models are given. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of stabilising J-lossless...

Quality control procedures in Pomeranian Digital Library
PublikacjaThis paper concerns a quality control in digital libraries projects. At first, general goals of such projects are presented together with some restrictions concerning non-commercial projects. Then some quality factors for digital objects are presented. Finally, a quality control model for Pomeranian Digital Library (PDL) is proposed. The model assumes three levels of quality control and takes into account specific features of PDL....

Control of a vapour microturbine set in cogeneration applications
PublikacjaSystems with microturbines are implemented for local generation of heat and electricity. This paper presents the analysis of control concepts for a vapour microturbine set with a generator with permanent magnets, intended to work in small heat and power plants. Control system variants differed by the selection of controlled signals and set parameters. Possible ways of control were discussed and compared with experimentally determined...

Application of hybrid finite-difference mode-matching method to analysis of structures loaded with axially-symmetrical posts
PublikacjaW artykule przedstawiono nową metodę hybrydową do analizy układów falowodowych zawierających dowolne konfiguracje obiektów osiowo-symetrycznych. Metoda oparta jest na połączeniu metody różnic skończonych, metody dopasowania rodzajów oraz iteracyjnej procedury rozpraszania. W pracy przedstawiono badania zbieżności metody. Uzyskane wyniki numeryczne porównano z wynikami odniesienia. Duża zgodność wyników potwierdziła poprawność opracowanego...
