PublicationThis work presents preliminary results of the experimental investigation of the forced convection heat transfer of water-Al2O3 nanofluids inside stainless steel tube with 8 mm internal diameter and 2000 mm length. Nanoparticles were tested at the concentrations of 0.01%, 0.1%, 1% and 5% by weight and the Reynolds number range encompasses laminar as well as turbulent flows.

Stress analysis of the bridge hangers in terms of the fatigue verification
PublicationThe paper presents the results of numerical stress analysis of the bridge rod hangers. Two types of hangers were taken into account, i.e. the bolted hanger and the welded hanger. A detailed FEM shell models of the connection area between the hanger and the bridge span have been developed. Local stress concentration effects have been investigated in terms of fatigue verification.

Investigation of some magnetospheric phenomena of geomagnetic storm on March 17, 2013 based on observations from GNSS and NOAA-15 satellite
PublicationSubstantial variations of magnetospheric electron fluxes of low and intermediate energies at an altitude of ~ 800 km at different phases of the geomagnetic storm were investigated. The ionosphere and plasmasphere response was analyzed using TEC variation maps over the Central Europe. Extraction of antenna pattern from near field antenna measurements distorted by undesired emission
PublicationIn this paper authors present experimental correction of antenna pattern obtained from near field measurements when they are distorted by determined electromagnetic emission. Such situation may be met e.g. when feeding or supply subsystem interacts with antenna radiation pattern due to self-emission.
