Incorporating Iris, Fingerprint and Face Biometric for Fraud Prevention in e-Passports Using Fuzzy Vault
PublicationA unified frame work which provides a higher security level to e-passports is proposed. This framework integrates face, iris and fingerprint images. It involves three layers of security: the first layer maps a biometric image to another biometric image which is called biostego image. Three mapping schemes are proposed: the first scheme maps single biometric image to single biostego image, the second scheme maps dual biometric images...

Modeling and Evaluation of Electric Treeing Phenomena in Polymeric Cable Insulation
PublicationThis paper investigates the treeing phenomenon in polymeric materials such as crosslinked polyethylene (XLPE) that is widely used in medium and high voltage power cables as primary insulation. The modeling of electrical tree growth in the insulation from its initiation to breakdown is significant research work that illustrates the discharge dynamics and its impact on aging process in polymeric insulation. This study utilizes pulse...

Atmospheric opacity estimation based on IWV derived from GNSS observations for VLBI applications
PublicationThermal emission of atmospheric water vapor has a great influence on the calibration of radio astronomical observations at millimeter wavelengths. The phenomenon of an atmospheric water vapor emits noise signal and attenuates astronomical emission. At 22 GHz, integrated water vapor (IWV) obtained from global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) is strictly related to atmospheric opacity (τ0), which is a crucial parameter for data...

In silico epitope prediction of Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato antigens for the detection of specific antibodies
PublicationDespite many years of research, serodiagnosis of Lyme disease still faces many obstacles. Difficulties arise mainly due to the low degree of amino acid sequence conservation of the most immunogenic antigens among B. burgdorferi s.l. genospecies, as well as differences in protein production depending on the environment in which the spirochete is located. Mapping B-cell epitopes located on antigens allows for a better understanding...

Tomasz Maria Boiński dr inż.
PeopleI’m associated with the University since the year 2000 when I started my studies in Computer Science on the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics. After graduating with honors in 2005, I applied for doctoral studies. During his studies and immediately afterward I was involved in cooperation with Hogart from Warsaw, in the implementation of business solutions in Gdynia company Elektronika SA (Infor FMS SunSystems)...

Preserving Trees in Automata
PublicationWe present a method to store additional information in a minimal automaton so that it is possible to compute a corresponding tree node number for a state. The number can then be used to retrieve additional information. The method works for minimal (and any other) deterministic acyclic finite state automata (DFAs). We also show how to compute the inverse mapping.
