Wskaźniki skuteczności wybranych narzędzi komunikacji marketingowej
PublicationW literaturze można znaleźć wiele opisów skuteczności i efektywności narzędzi komunikacji marketingowej. Autorka odnosi jednak wrażenie, iż w niektórych opracowaniach autorzy stosują pojęcia skuteczności i efektywności zamiennie. Wiele publikacji opisuje wskaźniki stosowane jedynie w mediach głównych, takich jak: TV, radio, prasa oraz kino. Kryzys gospodarczy jest powodem poważnych zmian w planowaniu mediów. Organizacje chcą stosować...

Model and laboratory simulation of a induction motor for diagnostic purposes
PublicationStatistics say that bearings are this part of induction motors which is most susceptible to damage. The equipment employed for bearing diagnostics usually makes use of vibrations as the criterion for technical condition of the bearings. A faulty bearing results in additional motor vibrations. They are reflected in the harmonic content of stator currents. In certain operating conditions the current signal is the sole source of information...

On the Matano Plane Position in Multicomponent Diffusion Couples
PublicationEven though several methods of diffusion analysis avoid a necessity for the Matano plane determination, the Matano plane locations are of interest in the multicomponent couples and when tracer experiments are performed. The positions of the Matano plane calculated from the concentration profiles should be exactly the same. However, due to experimental errors, the results can differ significantly. In the paper we consider Matano...

Analytical aspects of model compounds toxicity assessment using MTT and Microtox bioanalytica assays
PublicationMore and more increased intensity of anthropopressure processes can be observed, among other things, in the release of great quantities of synthetic substances into the environment, including the Endocrine Disrupting Compounds. The effects of the above-mentioned human impact on the environment not only can be noticed in the homeostasis disturbance in ecosystems, but they are also visible with respect to human. The high incidence...

Bending and buckling formulation of graphene sheets based on nonlocal simple first-order shear deformation theory
PublicationThis paper presents a formulation based on simple first-order shear deformation theory (S-FSDT) for large deflection and buckling of orthotropic single-layered graphene sheets (SLGSs). The S-FSDT has many advantages compared to the classical plate theory (CPT) and conventional FSDT such as needless of shear correction factor, containing less number of unknowns than the existing FSDT and strong similarities with the CPT. Governing...

Modelling and simulations in time-fractional electrodynamics based on control engineering methods
PublicationIn this paper, control engineering methods are presented with regard to modelling and simulations of signal propagation in time-fractional (TF) electrodynamics. That is, signal propagation is simulated in electromagnetic media described by Maxwell’s equations with fractional-order constitutive relations in the time domain. We demonstrate that such equations in TF electrodynamics can be considered as a continuous-time system of...

On a matching distance between rooted phylogenetic trees
PublicationThe Robinson–Foulds (RF) distance is the most popular method of evaluating the dissimilarity between phylogenetic trees. In this paper, we define and explore in detail properties of the Matching Cluster (MC) distance, which can be regarded as a refinement of the RF metric for rooted trees. Similarly to RF, MC operates on clusters of compared trees, but the distance evaluation is more complex. Using the graph theoretic approach...

Effect of Axial Porosities on Flexomagnetic Response of In-Plane Compressed Piezomagnetic Nanobeams
PublicationWe investigated the stability of an axially loaded Euler–Bernoulli porous nanobeam considering the flexomagnetic material properties. The flexomagneticity relates to the magnetization with strain gradients. Here we assume both piezomagnetic and flexomagnetic phenomena are coupled simultaneously with elastic relations in an inverse magnetization. Similar to flexoelectricity, the flexomagneticity is a size-dependent property. Therefore,...

Reduction of Tire Rolling Resistance by Optimization of Road Surfaces and Tires
PublicationDuring interaction between tire and road surface three very important phenomena are always in effect. One of them (very desirable) is friction that is important for traction, braking and cornering. Two other phenomena are not desirable at all, that is rolling resistance and noise. This paper discusses relations between road surface and tire parameters versus tire rolling resistance. Road surface texture, porosity, impedance, strength...

Different mass ratio of ascorbic acid (AA) to GO was used (namely 20:1 and 10:1). In order to eliminate the influence of AA on the final structure of hydrogels, samples without AA were prepared by a hydrothermal gelation of GO in an autoclave. An in-depth structural characterization...

The presented model stems from a well-established line of research combining scheduling theory...

On the effective properties of foams in the framework of the couple stress theory
PublicationIn the framework of the couple stress theory, we discuss the effective elastic properties of a metal open-cell foam. In this theory, we have the couple stress tensor, but the microrotations are fully described by displacements. To this end, we performed calculations for a representative volume element which give the matrices of elastic moduli relating stress and stress tensors with strain and microcurvature tensors.

Polymerization of chloro-p-xylylenes, quantum-chemical study
PublicationThe p-xylylene monomers of parylene N, C and D have similar high polymerization reactivity. For effective copolymerization processes this fact is basically a draw- back and for instance the copolymerization with styrene doesn't go at all (Corley et al. J Pol Sc 13(68):137156, 1954). Substitution of terminal hydrogen atoms by chlorine atoms reduces reactivity dramatically. 7,7,8,8-tetrachloro-p- xylylene and 2,5,7,7,8,8-hexachloro-p-xylylene...

PROBABLE RAINFALL IN GDAŃSK IN VIEW OF CLIMATE CHANGE
PublicationOne of the manifestations of climate changes is the occurrence of a greater number of precipitation events, characterized by greater rain intensity that affects the economic stability of cities. Gdańsk is an example of a city in which such events have occurred since the beginning of the twenty-first century. Due to the altitude differences in the area of Gdańsk city (between –2 m and 180 m a.s.l.), the occurrence of extreme atmospheric...

Using multibeam echoes in seafloor characterisation and classification
PublicationThe method of seabed identification and classification from multibeam sonar echoes is presented. The proposed approach is based on calculation of a set of parameters of an echo envelope, similarly as in seafloor classification using single beam echosounder. These parameters are extracted for each consecutive beam allowing the estimation of their dependence on the seafloor incident angle. The relation between seabed type and calculated...

Contra Bellum: Bell's Theorem as a Confusion of Languages
PublicationBell's theorem is a conflict of mathematical predictions formulated within an infinite hierarchy of mathematical models. Inequalities formulated at level k ∈ Z are violated by probabilities at level k+1. We are inclined to think that k=0 corresponds to the classical world, while k=1 — to the quantum one. However, as the k=0 inequalities are violated by k=1 probabilities, the same relation holds between k=1 inequalities violated...

Comments on various extensions of the Riemann–Liouville fractional derivatives : About the Leibniz and chain rule properties
PublicationStarting from the Riemann–Liouville derivative, many authors have built their own notion of fractional derivative in order to avoid some classical difficulties like a non zero derivative for a constant function or a rather complicated analogue of the Leibniz relation. Discussing in full generality the existence of such operator over continuous functions, we derive some obstruction Lemma which can be used to prove the triviality...
