Benchmarking overlapping communication and computations with multiple streams for modern GPUs
PublikacjaThe paper presents benchmarking a multi-stream application processing a set of input data arrays. Tests have been performed and execution times measured for various numbers of streams and various compute intensities measured as the ratio of kernel compute time and data transfer time. As such, the application and benchmarking is representative of frequently used operations such as vector weighted sum, matrix multiplication etc....

Advanced surveillance and operational communication system employing mobile terminals
PublikacjaDistributed surveillance and operational communications system based on XMPP protocol is presented. Its architecture and assumptions leading to the depicted design are shown. Features of XMPP protocol are portrayed with the emphasis on those most important in the context of the application. Real-time multimedia transmission with the use of Jingle/XMPP extension is discussed. The use of PDA-class computers as mobile terminals is...

Multiacces quantum communication and product higher rank numerical range
PublikacjaIn the present paper we initiate the study of the product higher rank numerical range. The latter, being a variant of the higher rank numerical range, is a natural tool for study- ing a construction of quantum error correction codes for multiple access channels. We review properties of this set and relate it to other numerical ranges, which were recently introduced in the literature. Further, the concept is applied to the construction...

Efficient methods for radio location service in cellular communication networks
PublikacjaW artykule przedstawiono dwie oryginalne metody lokalizowania terminala ruchomego w sieciach komórkowych trzeciej generacji. Metody te podczas estymacji położenia terminala nie wymagają znajomości różnicy czasów w synchronizacji poszczególnych stacji bazowych, przez co są tanie w implementacji. Przedstawiono wyniki badań symulacyjnych zaproponowanych metod.

A heterogenous wireless system for maritime communication - the netBaltic system architecture
PublikacjaIn the article, the concept of a heterogeneous wireless maritime mesh network offering transmission for e.g., e-navigation services is presented. The constrains of existing and competitive solutions are discussed showing the need for a new system. The authors present detailed information about a netBaltic node's architecture and networking mechanisms offering different transmission capabilities and proposed for use on different...

Head movement compensation algorithm in multi-display communication by gaze
PublikacjaAn influence of head movements on the gaze estimation accuracy when using a head mounted eye tracking system is discussed in the paper. This issue has been examined for a multi-display environment. It was found that head movement (rotation) to some extent does not influence on the gaze estimation accuracy seriously. Acceptable results were obtained when using eye-tracker to communicate with a computer via in two displays simultaneously.

Implementation Of The Innovative Radiolocalization System VCS-MLAT (Voice Communication System Multilateration)
PublikacjaIn the article the concept of the radiolocalization subsystem of the VHF communication for aviation VCS-MLAT (Voice Communication System – Multilateration) is presented. The distributed localization system can estimate the position of the aircraft using the audio signals from aircraft transmitters in the VHF band (118-136 MHz). This paper shows initial verification of the possibility to use voice airband communication to estimate...
