DEGRADATION OF GFRP MARINE LAMINATES WITH NANO PARTICLE MODIFIED COATINGS
PublicationWater absorption and surface blistering behaviour was studied for polyester-matrix laminates with SiO2 nanoparticle reinforced gel coats. Accelerated water immersion tests at 37°C showed that addition of 10% nanoparticles increases blisters incubation time by ca. 50% compared to 5% and 0% nanoparticles composites.

Influence of nanoparticle concentration on convective heat transfer of water-Al2O3 nanofluids inside horizontal tubes
PublicationThis work presents preliminary results of the experimental investigation of the forced convection heat transfer of water-Al2O3 nanofluids inside stainless steel tube with 8 mm internal diameter and 2000 mm length. Nanoparticles were tested at the concentrations of 0.01%, 0.1%, 1% and 5% by weight and the Reynolds number range encompasses laminar as well as turbulent flows.

Multi-core and Multiprocessor Implementation of Numerical Integration in Finite Element Method
PublicationThe paper presents techniques for accelerating a numerical integration process which appears in the Finite Element Method. The acceleration is achieved by taking advantages of multi-core and multiprocessor devices. It is shown that using multi-core implementation with OpenMP and a GPU acceleration using CUDA architecture allows one to achieve the speedups by a factor of 5 and 10 on a CPU and GPUs, respectively.

PublicationArtykuł omawia wyniki modelowania procesu zarysowania w elementach betonowych zawierające stalowe włókna przy zastosowaniu dyskretnego modelu kratownicowego. Beton był modelowany na poziomie mezoskali z uwzględnieniem 5 faz: kruszywa, zaczynu cementowego, włókien i obu stref kontaktu. Obliczenia trójwymiarowe wykonano dla jednoosiowego rozciągania.

PublicationWyniki badań dowodzą, że reaktor cyklonowy jest wysokosprawnym absorberem. Absorber cyklonowy pozwala na osiągnięcie stopnia redukcji 97% dla samej wody i zawartości dwutlenku siarki w fazie gazowej 5 mg/dm3. Dwutlenek siarki był usuwany również w wodnym rozworze alkaicznym (0.01 mol NaOH/dm3).

PublicationArtykuł omawia wyniki modelowania procesu zarysowania w elementach betonowych zawierające stalowe włókna przy zastosowaniu dyskretnego modelu kratownicowego. Beton był modelowany na poziomie mezoskali z uwzględnieniem 5 faz: kruszywa, zaczynu cementowego, włókien i obu stref kontaktu. Obliczenia wykonano dla jednoosiowego ściskania oraz jednoosiowego rozciągania.

Thermal Decomposition of Carbamoyl Meldrum’s Acids: A Starting Point for the Preparation of 1,3-Oxazine Derivatives
PublicationThe ability to undergo [4 + 2] versus [2 + 2] cycloaddition was under investigation for ketenes thermally generated from carbamoyl Meldrum’s acid. Usually, 1,3-oxazino-5-carbamoylo-4,6-diones are formed when carbamoyl Meldrum’s acid reacts with imine. However, in some cases, a reaction takes an unexpected course, leading to the formation of tetraponerines alkaloids derivatives or cyclic iminoethers.
