Equivariant Morse equation
PublikacjaThe paper is concerned with the Morse equation for flows in a representation of a compact Lie group. As a consequence of this equation we give a relationship between the equivariant Conley index of an isolated invariant set of the flow given by x˙ = − ∇f(x) and the gradient equivariant degree of ∇f. Some multiplicity results are also presented.

Quadratic stochastic operators on Banach lattices
PublikacjaWe study the convergence of iterates of quadratic stochastic operators that are mean monotonic. They are defined on the convex set of probability measures concentrated on a weakly compact order interval S = [0, f] of a fixed Banach lattice F. We study their regularity and identify the limits of trajectories either as the “infimum” or “supremum” of the support of initial distributions.

Due to non-linear frequency dependency in the Right Hand Side (RHS), the standard reduction methods do...

In uence of Low-Level Features Extracted from Rhythmic and Harmonic Sections on Music Genre Classi cation
PublikacjaWe present a comprehensive evaluation of the infuence of 'harmonic' and rhythmic sections contained in an audio file on automatic music genre classi cation. The study is performed using the ISMIS database composed of music files, which are represented by vectors of acoustic parameters describing low-level music features. Non-negative Matrix Factorization serves for blind separation of instrument components. Rhythmic components...

Applications of Tensor Analysis in Continuum Mechanics
PublikacjaA tensor field is a tensor-valued function of position in space. The use of tensor fields allows us to present physical laws in a clear, compact form. A byproduct is a set of simple and clear rules for the representation of vector differential operators such as gradient, divergence, and Laplacian in curvilinear coordinate systems. The tensorial nature of a quantity permits us to formulate transformation rules for its components...

Seeding enhancement for microcrystaline diamond layers growth on non-diamond substrates
PublikacjaThe present paper gives an overview on the possible methods of seeding substrates for diamond layers growth. Diamond in reason of his properties is very desirable material in microelectronic, biomedical and waste treatment sensors. Microcrystalline diamond for these applications must be grown on silicon substrate in microwave plasma assisted chemical vapor deposition (MPACVD). To grow diamond on non-diamond surface pre-growth...

GUIDED WAVES IN SHIP STRUCTURAL HEALTH MONITORING – A FEASIBILITY STUDY
PublikacjaShips and offshore structures operate in a severe corrosion degradation environment and face difficulty in providing long- lasting corrosion protection. The Classification Societies recommend regular thickness measurements leading to structural component replacements, to ensure structural integrity during service life. The measurements are usually performed using ultrasonic thickness gauges and such an approach requires multiple...

Carbon Dioxide Recovery Skid
PublikacjaIn the face of tightening climate regulations, the adoption of carbon dioxide recovery systems is inevitable. Modular process skid units have been widely adopted across the industry. The gas-steam power plant skid unit with the carbon dioxide recovery system was described. The proposed skid module consists of the compact cycle with the oxy-combustion and the carbon dioxide capture skid unit producing pure compressed CO2. The compactness...

Minimal number of periodic points of smooth boundary-preserving self-maps of simply-connected manifolds
PublikacjaLet M be a smooth compact and simply-connected manifold with simply-connected boundary ∂M, r be a fixed odd natural number. We consider f, a C1 self-map of M, preserving ∂M . Under the assumption that the dimension of M is at least 4, we define an invariant Dr(f;M,∂M) that is equal to the minimal number of r-periodic points for all maps preserving ∂M and C1-homotopic to f. As an application, we give necessary and sufficient...

Advances in Modelling and Analysis of Strength of Corroded Ship Structures
PublikacjaThe present study reviews the recent advances in modelling and analyses the strength of corroded ship structures. Firstly, the time-variant methodologies that consider only the mean structural element thickness loss due to corrosion degradation are identified. Corrosion degradation is regarded as the phenomenon that causes uneven thinning of specimens. This has been captured by various researchers as the loss of mechanical properties...

COMMENTS ON EXISTING ANALYTICAL SOLUTIONS TO THE WAVE-INDUCED CYCLIC RESPONSE OF A POROUS SEABED OF INFINITE THICKNESS
PublikacjaThis paper deals with the wave-induced cyclic response of a porous seabed (by means of oscillating parameters: pore-fluid pressure, soil displacement components, effective normal stress and shear stress components) due to a surface sinusoidal water-wave propagating over a seabed of infinite thickness. The main existing analytical solutions to the governing problem are critically discussed, pointing out their meaningful errors and...

Theoretical analysis of a new approach to order determination for a modified Prony method in swath mapping application
PublikacjaThis article presents a new approach to determine the model order (number of principal components) in the modified Prony method applied to swath acoustic mapping. Determination of the number of principal components is a crucial step in the modified Prony method. In the proposed approach the model order is chosen based on the underlying physical model of the underwater acoustic environment, and utilised signal processing operations....

Energetic model of hydraulic system of refuse collection vehicle based on simulation and experimental data
PublikacjaThis paper presents an energetic model of hydraulic system of a refuse collection vehicle. First, benefits resulting from implementation of an energetic model in the industry and operation of a Refuse Collection Vehicle are briefly explained. Then, components of the energy consumption in hydraulic circuits of compactor and lifting device are described and combined into a comprehensive model that can be evaluated using basic measurement...

Recent advances in high-frequency modeling by means of domain confinement and nested kriging
PublikacjaDevelopment of modern high-frequency components and circuits is heavily based on full-wave electromagnetic (EM) simulation tools. Some phenomena, although important from the point of view of the system performance, e.g., EM cross-coupling effects, feed radiation in antenna arrays, substrate anisotropy, cannot be adequately accounted for using simpler means such as equivalent network representations. Consequently, the involvement...
