Localization of sound sources with dual acoustic vector sensor
PublikacjaThe aim of the work is to estimate the position of sound sources. The proposed method uses a setup of two acoustic vector sensors (AVS). The intersection of azimuth rays from each AVS should indicate the position of a source. In practice, the result of position estimation using this method is an area rather than a point. This is a result of inaccuracy of the individual sensors, but more importantly, of the influence of a source...

Low-energy conical intersections, and strong vibronic couplings are found to prevail within the set of X-A and B-C-D cationic states, while the interactions between these two sets of states...

Objectivity in the non-Markovian spin-boson model
PublikacjaObjectivity constitutes one of the main features of the macroscopic classical world. An important aspect of the quantum-to-classical transition issue is to explain how such a property arises from the microscopic quantum theory. Recently, within the framework of open quantum systems, there has been proposed such a mechanism in terms of the so-called spectrum broadcast structures. These are multipartite quantum states of the system...

On ''cheap smoothing'' opportunities in identification of time-varying systems
PublikacjaIn certain applications of nonstationary system identification the model-based decisions can be postponed, i.e. executed with a delay. This allows one to incorporate into the identification process not only the currently available information, but also a number of ''future'' data points. The resulting estimation schemes, which involve smoothing, are not causal. Despite the possible performance improvements, the existing smoothing...

Identification of Fast Time-varying Communication Channels Using the Preestimation Technique
PublikacjaAccurate identification of stochastic systems with fast-varying parameters is a challenging task which cannot be accomplished using model-free estimation methods, such as weighted least squares, which assume only that system coefficients can be regarded as locally constant. The current state-of-the-art solutions are based on the assumption that system parameters can be locally approximated by a linear combination of appropriately...

[B.m.]: New Medias**2002 [4 s. 3 rys. bibliogr. 6 poz.] Page numbers in the proceedings: Volume 3, s. 135-138. Zwiększanie dokładności estymacji częstotliwości poprzez decymację.
PublikacjaArtykuł rozważa problem estymacji częstotliwości zaszumionego, sinusoidalne-go sygnału zespolonego.

Experimental Study of Polish Sausage Drying Kinetics and Contraction by Image Data Analysis
PublikacjaThe goal of this paper has been to add an experimental data set for drying a meat product and provide a comparison with well-established thin-layer drying models. This article presented experimental investigations on the convective drying of Polish sausage slices at a temperature of 40°C. Slices have been in the thickness of 3 to 8mm. Measurements of mass loss and size change were performed. The data have been presented in the...

Sensorless induction motor drive with voltage inverter and sine-wave filter
PublikacjaThis paper presents a speed sensorless control system of an induction motor with an output LC filter. It is known that the parameters design of the filter gives sine wave motor supply voltage but complicates control and estimation process. The reason is that the voltage drop and phase shift between filter input and output signals are imposed, and hence the motor voltages and currents differ from the inverter output waveforms. To...

Estimating the uncertainty of the liquid mass flow using the orifice plate
PublikacjaThe article presents estimation of measurement uncertainty of a liquid mass flow using the orifice plate. This subject is essential because of the widespread use of this type of flow meters, which renders not only the quantitative estimation but also qualitative results of this type so those measurements are important. To achieve this goal, the authors of the paper propose to use the theory of uncertainty. The article shows the...

Regularized Local Basis Function Approach to Identification of Nonstationary Processes
PublikacjaThe problem of identification of nonstationary stochastic processes (systems or signals) is considered and a new class of identification algorithms, combining the basis functions approach with local estimation technique, is described. Unlike the classical basis function estimation schemes, the proposed regularized local basis function estimators are not used to obtain interval approximations of the parameter trajectory, but provide...

Equitable and semi-equitable coloring of cubic graphs and its application in batch scheduling
PublikacjaIn the paper we consider the problems of equitable and semi-equitable coloring of vertices of cubic graphs. We show that in contrast to the equitable coloring, which is easy, the problem of semi-equitable coloring is NP- complete within a broad spectrum of graph parameters. This affects the complexity of batch scheduling of unit-length jobs with cubic incompatibility graph on three uniform processors to minimize...

Plasma is assumed to be an ideal gas with a finite electrical conductivity permeated by a magnetic filed orthogonal to the trajectories of gas particles. the excitation of non-wave modes in the filed of intense magnetoacoustic perturbations, i.e., magnetoaciustic heating and streaming, is discussed. The analysis includes a derivation if instantaneous...

In cases like this, the local basis function (LBF) estimation technique can be used instead, significantly increasing the achievable...
