Based on the numerical analysis the influence of the pseudochirality on propagation characteristics and field distribution are examined. Other feature such as a field displacement phenomenon appearing in the both considered structures...

Vision guided robot gripping systems
Zastosowano dwie konwencje notacyjne...

Study of Noise Propagation for Small Vessels
PublicationThe paper presents the results of the noise propagation analysis in ship structures tested in a number of AHTS (Anchor Handling Tug Supply) vessels. Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA) based on numerical model developed specially for the purpose of this numerical investigation were conducted. This numerical model enabled the analysis of both the structural elements and the acoustic spaces. For the detailed studies 47 points fixed...

Hertzian Crack Propagation in Ceramic Rolling Elements
PublicationThe properties of ceramics are of most interest to rolling element manufacturers. The influence of ring crack size on rolling contact fatigue failure has been studied using numerical fracture analysis. Such crack are very often found on ceramic bearing balls and decrease fatigue life rapidly. The numerical calculations are based on a three dimensional model for the ring crack propagation. The stress intensity factors along crack...

New user-guided and ckpt-based checkpointing libraries for parallel MPI applications

The description of non-linear interactions of wave and non-wave modes in a non-adiabatic plasma flow
PublicationThe method of derivation of non-linear equations for interacting modes is explained and applied to a plasma's flow affected by a magnetic field. It is based on the linear projecting of the total perturbation field into specific variations of variables in individual modes of a flow. The method may be applied in many examples of fluid flows with different mechanisms of non-adiabaticity. It is of special importance in complex flows...

Propagation analysis of the point-to-point radio links operating in the band
PublicationThe theoretical possibilities of utilizing the EHF-band frequencies for point-to-point short range communications have been discussed. The most important factors that affect propagation attenuation in this band have been briefly described, as well as relevant mathematical formulas that allow for numerical analysis of these phenomena. After that, a research have been carried out in which the authors have analyzed propagation losses...

Propagation Path Loss Modeling in Container Terminal Environment
PublicationThis paper describes novel method of path loss modeling for radio communication channels in container port area. Multi-variate empirical model is presented, based on multidimensional regression analysis of real path loss measurements from container terminal environment. The measurement instruments used in propagation studies in port area are also described.

Shipping Low Frequency Noise and Its Propagation in Shallow Water
PublicationOne of the most significant factor influencing acoustical climate of the sea is underwater noise generated by moving ships. If the considered sea area has features of the shallow water, namely the wave frequency fulfils relation f < 10c/h, where c denotes phase speed of sound, and h is depths of the sea, then in certain distance from the wave source specific image of sound pressure distribution in the mean of wave modes appears....

Numerical analysis of crack propagation in silicone nitride
PublicationThe properties of ceramics, specifically low density, high hardness, high temperature capability and low coefficient of thermal expansion are of most interest to rolling element manufacturers. The influence of ring crack size on rolling contact fatigue failure has been studied using numerical fracture analysis. Such cracks are very often found on ceramic bearing balls and decrease fatigue life rapidly. The numerical calculation...

An Empirical Propagation Model for Mobile Radio Links in Container Terminal Environment
PublicationIn this paper, a novel empirical propagation model for mobile radio links in a container terminal environment is presented. Measurement propagation research carried out in the Deepwater Container Terminal (DCT) in Gdańsk, Poland is described, and the investigated environment is characterized. The results of the statistical evaluation of the new model are discussed. In addition, statistical tuning of the Walfisch–Ikegami model for...

Modelling the malware propagation in mobile computer devices
PublicationNowadays malware is a major threat to the security of cyber activities. The rapid develop- ment of the Internet and the progressive implementation of the Internet of Things (IoT) increase the security needs of networks. This research presents a theoretical model of malware propagation for mobile computer devices. It is based on the susceptible-exposed- infected-recovered-susceptible (SEIRS) epidemic model. The scheme is based on...

Psychophysiological strategies for enhancing performance through imagery – skin conductance level analysis in guided vs. self-produced imagery
PublicationAthletes need to achieve their optimal level of arousal for peak performance. Visualization or mental rehearsal (i.e., Imagery) often helps to obtain an appropriate level of activation, which can be detected by monitoring Skin Conductance Level (SCL). However, different types of imagery could elicit different amount of physiological arousal. Therefore, this study aims: (1) to investigate differences in SCL associated with two instructional...
