  • Aspects of multistation quantum information broadcasting

    Publication

We study quantum information transmission over multiparty quantum channel. In particular, we show an equivalence of different capacity notions and provide a multiletter characterization of a capacity region for a general quantum channel with k senders and m receivers. We point out natural generalizations to the case of two-way classical communication capacity. (C) 2010 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

  • A New Method of Noncausal Identification of Time-varying Systems

The paper shows that the problem of noncausal identification of a time-varying FIR (finite impulse response) sys- tem can be reformulated, and solved, as a problem of smoothing of the preestimated parameter trajectories. Characteristics of the smoothing filter should be chosen so as to provide the best trade- off between the bias and variance of the resulting estimates. It is shown that optimization of the smoothing operation can...

  • Total chromatic sum for trees

    Publication

    - Year 2021

The total chromatic sum of a graph is the minimum sum of colors (natural numbers) taken over all proper colorings of vertices and edges of a graph. We provide infinite families of trees for which the minimum number of colors to achieve the total chromatic sum is equal to the total chromatic number. We construct infinite families of trees for which these numbers are not equal, disproving the conjecture from 2012.

    - Homology Homotopy and Applications - Year 2021

We compare the sets of homotopy classes of gradient and proper gradient vector fields in the plane. Namely, we show that gradient and proper gradient homotopy classi cations are essentially different. We provide a complete description of the sets of homotopy classes of gradient maps from R^n to R^n and proper gradient maps from R^2 to R^2 with the Brouwer degree greater or equal to zero.

  • Evaluation of time-efficiency of disjoint paths calculation schemes

    Publication

    - Year 2015

The concept of alternate paths has been shown in the literature to provide fast response of a network to failures of its elements (nodes/links) affecting flows along the primary communication paths. Various approaches have been proposed to reduce the time necessary to redirect the respective flows onto the alternate paths. In this paper, we focus on another important objective, that so far has not received much attention, i.e.,...

  • Quantum metrology: Heisenberg limit with bound entanglement

    Publication

    - PHYSICAL REVIEW A - Year 2015

Quantum entanglement may provide a huge boost in the precision of parameter estimation. However, quantum metrology seems to be extremely sensitive to noise in the probe state. There is an important still open question: What type of entanglement is useful as a resource in quantum metrology? Here we raise this question in relation to entanglement distillation. We provide a counterintuitive example of a family of bound entangled states...

We analyze quantum network primitives which are entanglement breaking. We show superadditivity of quantum and classical capacity regions for quantum multiple-access channels and the quantum butterfly network. The present effects provide a qualitative...

We show that in general states have asymmetric entanglement. This allows to construct nonsymmetric measure of entanglement, and a parameter that reports asymmetry of entanglement contents of quantum state. We propose...
