Comparative analysis of the theoretical models of ideal propulsor, ideal fluid brake, ideal screw propeller and ideal axial wind turbine
PublicationThe article presents a detailed discussion of four different fluid dynamics devices.These devices are presented with all relevant mathematical formulae regarding the forces, the power and the efficiency. It is demonstrated that application of the Betz theorem to axial wind turbines is not correct and it underestimates the maximujm achievable efficiency. PublicationIn this paper the classical Winter model, developed originally for columns is applied for frame structures and compared with the results of parametric study of frame with bracing. Sensitivity analysis of critical loads of frame due to bracing stiffness is carried out and the threshold bracing stiffness for full bracing is found. Comparison of properties of the new electro-mechanical model and circumferential model of the inductive-dynamic drive
PublicationThe article presents a new electromechanical model of inductive-dynamic drive. The model is implemented in two environments: Maxwell for analyzing electrodynamic phenomena including moving of the disc and Ansys which allows for stress analysis on the basis of the volume forces imported from Maxwell. Numerical methods for the assessment of bridge safety barriers
PublicationThe paper presents a numerical study of the bus crash test for bridge safety barriers. The analysis is conducted with the use of explicit code LS-DYNA. The problem of hourglass effect in shell elements is discussed. The simulations of bus impact against the barrier show that the analyzed barrier withstands the impact forces and restrains the bus trajectory to the bridge road.

PublicationThe paper presents summary of numerical analysis of the unsteady propeller forces and induced pressure pulses generated by the selected real propeller of 7000 tons product tanker, operating in five different wakefields including four inflenced by the different wake improvement devices.
