Design of weighted PID controllers for control of the Stewart-Gough platform
PublikacjaStewart-Gough platform (SGP) is a popular parallel type manipulator that involves a 6 degrees of freedom (DOF) motion. In this paper, the process of mathematical modelling of SGP is presented. Two selected control algorithms that use PID controllers and weighted PID controllers are designed. Both control systems using these algorithms are implemented in MATLAB environment as well as on the actual SGP. Parameters of the controllers...

An electrochemical biosensor for the determination of hormone Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) in human serum
PublikacjaThis work describes the modification of a gold electrode to create an electrochemical biosensor capable of detecting human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). The biosensor was obtained by modifying the gold electrode with cysteamine and oligopeptide (PPLRINRHILTR). The modification steps of the gold electrode were confirmed by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and impedance electrochemical spectroscopy (EIS) measurements. The conducted EIS experiments...

Child-Robot Interaction Studies During COVID-19 Pandemic
PublikacjaThe coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic affected our lives deeply, just like everyone else, the children also suffered from the restrictions due to COVID-19 affecting their education and social interactions with others, being restricted from play areas and schools for a long time. Although social robots provide a promising solution to support children in their education, healthcare, and social interaction with others, the precautions...

A repeated game formulation of network embedded coding for multicast resilience in extreme conditions
PublikacjaComputer networks and data sharing applications are vital for our current society and fundamental for any available ICT solution, so that networking is considered as one of the key critical infrastructures and its correct behavior should be always enforced, even in case of disasters or severe execution conditions. Resilience is a strongly demanding nonfunctional requirement for current computer networks, and one of the key factors...

Transfer learning in imagined speech EEG-based BCIs
PublikacjaThe Brain–Computer Interfaces (BCI) based on electroencephalograms (EEG) are systems which aim is to provide a communication channel to any person with a computer, initially it was proposed to aid people with disabilities, but actually wider applications have been proposed. These devices allow to send messages or to control devices using the brain signals. There are different neuro-paradigms which evoke brain signals of interest...

Application of the fluid–structure interaction technique for the analysis of hydrodynamic lubrication problems.
PublikacjaFluid–structure interaction technique seems to be one of the most promising possibilities for theoretical analysis of lubrication problems. It allows coupling of different physical fields in one computational task, taking into account the interaction between them. In this article, two sets of fluid–structure interaction analyses focusing on the bearing performance evaluation are presented. One analysis was applied to a water-lubricated...

System of monitoring of the Forest Opera in Sopot structure and roofing
PublikacjaThe authors present a solution realized in Forest Opera (name in Polish: Opera Leśna) in Sopot (Poland) in connection with the modernization and construction of a new roof. The complicated structure of the roof of the facility and the used covering in form of membrane made of technical fabric required (for security reasons) to install the unit of devices allowing for the continuous geodetic monitoring of the facility. Monitoring...

Aiming at methods’ wider adoption: Applicability determinants and metrics
PublikacjaNumerous computer science methods and techniques have been proposed by the scientific community. However, depending on the domain, only their minor fraction has met wider adoption. This paper brings attention to the concept of applicability - the notion that is well acknowledged in the scientific field but have not been analysed with respect to determinants, metrics and systematisation. The primary objective of the study was to...

Polyhedral Ramsey Numbers
PublikacjaGiven two polygons or polyhedrons P1 and P2, we can transform these figures to graphs G1 and G2, respectively. The polyhedral Ramsey number Rp(G1,G2) is the smallest integer n such that every graph, which represents polyhedron on n vertices either contains a copy of G1 or its complement contains a copy of G2. Using a computer search together with some theoretical results we have established some polyhedral Ramsey numbers, for example...
