Average heat transfer coefficients – both local,...

Comparison of heat transfer characteristics in surface cooling using microjets with water, ethanol and HFE7100 as test fluids
PublikacjaAccurate control of cooling parameters is required in ever wider range of technical applications. It is known that reducing the dimensions of the size of nozzle leads to an increase in the economy of cooling and improves its quality. Present study describes research related to the design and construction of the nozzles and microjet study, which may be applied in many technical applications such as in metallurgy, electronics, etc....

Application of dispersive liquid - liquid microextraction for determination of pesticides from various chemical groups in water samples
PublikacjaPesticides are a global risk because they move with the wind, rain and sea currents from other regions, which makes getting to places which were never used before. Their presence was detected in all types of water circulating in the ecosystem, which is an easy source of exposure to life and health of all living organisms. Currently, it is considered one of the most dangerous and toxic pollutants, which fate and function is still...

Optimised Robust Placement of Hard Quality Sensors for Robust Monitoring of Quality in Drinking Water Distribution Systems
PublikacjaA problem of optimised robust placement of the hard quality sensors in Drinking Water Distribution Systems under several water demand scenarios for robust quality monitoring is formulated. Numerical algorithms to solve the problem are derived. The optimality is meant as achieving at the same time a desired trade off between the sensor capital and maintenance costs and resulting robust estimation accuracy of the monitoring algorithm...

Data-driven models for fault detection using kernel pca:a water distribution system case study
PublikacjaKernel Principal Component Analysis (KPCA), an example of machine learning, can be considered a non-linear extension of the PCA method. While various applications of KPCA are known, this paper explores the possibility to use it for building a data-driven model of a non-linear system-the water distribution system of the Chojnice town (Poland). This model is utilised for fault detection with the emphasis on water leakage detection....

Fourier transform infrared spectroscopic and theoretical study of water interactions with glycine and its N-methylated derivatives
PublikacjaZbadano hydratację glicyny i jej metylowych pochodnych: N-metyloglicyny (NMG), N,N-dimetyloglicyny (DMG) i N,N,N-trimetyloglicyny (TMG) przy wykorzystaniu spektroskopii FTIR, z zastosowaniem cząsteczki HDO jako sondy molekularnej. Ilościowa wersja metody widm różnicowych pozwoliła na wyizolowanie widma wody zaburzonej przez substancję rozpuszczoną. Wyniki widmowe zostały skonfrontowane z obliczeniami teoretycznymi w ramach teorii...
