Detection of Anomalies in the Operation of a Road Lighting System Based on Data from Smart Electricity Meters
PublicationSmart meters in road lighting systems create new opportunities for automatic diagnostics of undesirable phenomena such as lamp failures, schedule deviations, or energy theft from the power grid. Such a solution fits into the smart cities concept, where an adaptive lighting system creates new challenges with respect to the monitoring function. This article presents research results indicating the practical feasibility of real‐time...

Data fusion of GPS sensors using Particle Kalman Filter for ship dynamic positioning system
PublicationDepending on standards and class, dynamically positioned ships make use of different numbers of redundant sensors to determine current ship position. The paper presents a multi-sensor data fusion algorithm for the dynamic positioning system which allows it to record the proper signal from a number of sensors (GPS receivers). In the research, the Particle Kalman Filter with data fusion was used to estimate the position of the vessel....

Health System Efficiency in European Countries: Network Data Envelopment Analysis Approach
PublicationPurpose: The article's main aim is to investigate the effectiveness of health systems in European countries based on EUROSTAT data. A comparative analysis of the health systems' effectiveness in different countries is based on their improvement (reform), using the best practices approach. Design/Methodology/Approach: The network DEA model and a slack-based model (NDEA – SBM) are used. A non-oriented model is used. The research...

Data-driven models for fault detection using kernel pca:a water distribution system case study
PublicationKernel Principal Component Analysis (KPCA), an example of machine learning, can be considered a non-linear extension of the PCA method. While various applications of KPCA are known, this paper explores the possibility to use it for building a data-driven model of a non-linear system-the water distribution system of the Chojnice town (Poland). This model is utilised for fault detection with the emphasis on water leakage detection....

A design concept of main propulsion system with hydrostatic transmission gear for inland waterways ship

Torque transmission diagnostic system for high-speed train using state-space observer
PublicationW artykule przedstawiono zagadnienie diagnostyki czujnika prędkości silnika i przekładni mechanicznej pociągu. W celach diagnostycznych zastosowano obserwatory stanu do obliczania prędkości obrotowej silnika i momentu obciążenia. Analiza chwilowych wartości obliczonej prędkości obrotowej oraz momentu obciążenia pozwala na diagnozowanie stanu układu transmisji momentu trakcyjnego. Zaprezentowano wyniki badań symulacyjnych i eksperymentalnych...
