Experimental evaluation of estimator mean square error curve for cognitive tracking radar
PublicationTo make decisions, cognitive radar must rely on predictions of its own performance. In the literature, these predictions are usually based on some form of Cram\'er-Rao lower bound. PublicationThe problem of identification of multivariate autoregressive processes (systems or signals) with unknown and possibly time-varying model order and time-varying rate of parameter variation is considered and solved using parallel estimation approach. Under this approach, several local estimation algorithms, with different order and bandwidth settings, are run simultaneously and compared based on their predictive performance. First,...

Analysis of ring cracks in ceramic rolling elements using the boundary element method
PublicationCeramic materials have been increasingly used in bearing technology for over a dozen years. This is due to the characteristic properties of ceramic materials such as: high hardness, corrosion resistance, the possibility of use in aggressive chemical environments, as well as due to the lower specific weight compared to steel materials. However, the use of ceramic materials is connected with many limitations. The main disadvantages...

Simulation model for evaluation of packet sequence changed order of stream in DiffServ network
PublicationCurrent packet networks use a large variety of mechanisms which should support QoS (Quality of Service). One of those mechanisms is routing (calculating connection paths for incoming service requests). The most effective mechanism in QoS context is dynamic routing, which is based on the current network state described by the offered traffic matrix and link states. After switching between calculated available paths, connection...

Application of the Boundary Element Method for the Simulation of Two-dimensional Viscous Incompressible Flow
PublicationThe paper presents the application of an indirect variant of the boundary element method (BEM) to solve the two-dimensional steady flow of a Stokes liquid. In the BEM, a system of differential equations is transformed into integral equations. Thi smakes it possible to limit discretization to the border of the solution. Numerical discretization of the computational domain was performed with linear boundary elements, for which a...

Simplified method of applying loads to flat slab floor structural model
PublicationThe article analyses the impact of the live load position on the surface of a reinforced concrete flat slab floor of 32.0 m × 28.8 m. Four variants of a live load position are investigated: located on the entire concrete slab, set in a chessboard pattern, applied by bands and imposed separately in each of the slab panels. Conclusions are drawn upon differences in bending moments, the time of calculation and the size of output files....
