ANALYSIS OF THE p53 PROTEIN GENE EXPRESSION MODEL
PublicationWe study the asymptotic behaviour of the solutions of the p53-Mdm2 model proposed by Monk (2003). The p53 gene is crucial for cellular inhibition of the angiogenesis process, while Mdm2 is a negative regulator of the p53 tumor-suppressor. Equivariant Morse equation
PublicationThe paper is concerned with the Morse equation for flows in a representation of a compact Lie group. As a consequence of this equation we give a relationship between the equivariant Conley index of an isolated invariant set of the flow given by x˙ = − ∇f(x) and the gradient equivariant degree of ∇f. Experimental Determination of Limit Adhesive Shear Strtess between Solid Wall and Liquid
PublicationTheoretically slip of a fluid with respect to the solid wall should occur even at a very low velocity of motion. However theoretical analysisand some empirical data suggest that there must be a limit value of shear stress, below which the slip does not appear. Excavation induced cast iron pipeline failure – a numerical study
PublicationNumerical study on impact of an unsecured excavation on an underground pipeline. Analysis focused on investigation of pipeline displacement generated by soil movement caused by excavation and heavy traffic. Oversizing the photovoltaic generator capacity in a micro photovoltaic plant
PublicationA significant part of photovoltaic micro installations in Poland is characterized by photovoltaic generator oversizing in relation to the inverter. The idea of oversizing, however, still raises doubts among some plant owners. In the paper, the energy yield of installation with an oversized and not oversized photovoltaic generator is presented on selected examples, showing the legitimacy of oversizing.

On the Characteristic Graph of a Discrete Symmetric Channel
PublicationWe present some characterizations of characteristic graphs of row and/or column symmetric channels. We also give a polynomial-time algorithm that decides whether there exists a discrete symmetric channel whose characteristic graph is equal to a given input graph. PublicationThe experimental analysis of the technical fabric Valmex is presented. The study involves uniaxial tensile, cyclic, rheological and biaxial tests. Some of the main differencies between two types of the analysed material have been identified. The vortex flow caused by sound in a bubbly liquid
PublicationGeneration of vorticity in the field of intense sound in a bubbly liquid in the free half-space is considered. The reasons for generation of vorticity are nonlinearity, diffraction, and dispersion. Acoustic streaming differs from that in a Newtonian fluid. Effect of initial imperfection on buckling of thin-walled I columns
PublicationEffects of initial geometrical imperfections on critical buckling loads of thin-walled I columns are investigated. Torsional and flexural buckling are taken into account. The column behaviour is described in accord to the theory of thin-walled beams with nondeformable cross-section.
