Investigating the sustainability, utilisation, consumption and conservation of sea mammals – A systematic review
PublikacjaAlmost 80 % of the oceans, especially the Arctic and Subarctic are primarily inhabited by marine mammals. Marine species depend mostly on sea ice for food, raising their young ones and safeguarding themselves from predators. Consumption of marine mammals has always been recommended as healthy, but the truth is that it can be detrimental for human health because of sea water pollution from trash and chemicals. This systematic review...

The system is used for tracking people inside buildings in order to obtain information about their appearance and movement. The fields of view of the cameras did not overlap. Therefore, when an object was moving through unsupervised areas, prediction was needed...

Current trends in the field of steganalysis and guidelines for constructions of new steganalysis schemes
PublikacjaThe paper concerns blind steganalysis techniques in the passive steganalysis scenario designed to detect the steganographic cover modification schemes. The goal is to investigate the state-of-art in the field of steganalysis, and, above all, to recognize current trends existing in this field and determine guidelines for constructions of new steganalysis schemes. The intended effects are to examine the possibilities for the development...

Direct detection of quantum entanglement
PublikacjaBasing on positive maps separability criterion we propose the experimentally viable, direct detection of quantum entanglement. It is efficient and does not require any a priori knowledge about the state. For two qubits it provides a sharp (i.e., “if and only if”) separability test and estimation of amount of entanglement. We view this method as a new form of quantum computation, namely, as a decision problem with quantum data structure.

Managing Virtual Teams: The Three Dimensions Scope
PublikacjaDue to globalisation and economic reasons the number of people working as a team in a virtual environment is increasing. Although virtual team can outperform teams working in a traditional environment still many managers face difficulties in achieving this goal. This article describes the idea of a system that would support knowledge management in virtual teams focusing on three dimensions of virtual work: location, organisation,...

Ontologically Aided Rule Model for the Implementation of ITIL Processes
PublikacjaThe implementation of ITIL processes in IT organizations can be seen as a set of interdependent projects. The sequence of the ITIL implementation relies on such parameters as scope, depth, the capability of processes and the maturity of the organization. These factors can form common patterns of ITIL implementation that might be expressed as rules. Also-to semantically reinforce such a model in its predictiveness and replicativeness-the...

The Cluster Organization. Analyzing the Development of Cooperative Relationships
PublikacjaCluster organizations are becoming more and more popular, both in developing and developed countries. Considering the development of cluster policy and the related dynamic growth of cluster initiatives in the world, the lack of sufficient knowledge on the development of cooperation in cluster organizations inhibits their development and, in many cases, causes their complete disintegration. The book provides new important elements...

The use of thermal imaging camera to estimate velocity profiles based on temperature distribution in a free convection boundary layer
PublikacjaThis work describes an attempt to assess whether the temperature field from a thermal imaging camera can be converted into a velocity field with an accuracy sufficient for qualitative conducting or describing the phenomenon, i.e. when the Navier-Stokes, Fourier-Kirchhoff and continuity equations are mutually coupled. The consequence of this link between temperature fields and velocity is the possibility to formulate the hypothesis...

Experience-based Intelligence Augmentation with Decisional DNA: Upcoming direction
PublikacjaIntelligence amplification systems and technologies have gained significant interest from academia and industry during the past few decades. One of the main reasons behind this trend is the fact that most experts agree that truly intelligent artificial system is yet to be developed. The question increasing often asked is this: Is full replication of human intelligence desirable key aim in intelligence related technology and research?...

Borrowing Images of Empire. The contribution of research on the artistic influence of the Holy Roman Empire on Polish Romanesque architecture in the eleventh and twelfth centuries
PublikacjaAlthough knowledge concerning Romanesque architecture in Poland has developed over many years, most cathedrals and ducal or royal seats have not been comprehensively examined. Moreover, a substantial number of contemporary scholarly works have erased the thin line between material evidence and its interpretation. As a consequence, the architectural remains of Polish Romanesque edifices are often considered the basis for wider comparative...
