Adaptacyjny regulator kursu statku z zastosowaniem metody backstepping
PublicationW układach morskich aplikacja nieliniowych technik adaptacyjnych do sterowania ruchem statku jest obecnie niezbędna aby uwzględnić występujące niepewności strukturalne i parametryczne. Jest to szczególnie istotne, ponieważ dynamika statku zależy od dużej masy i wpływu zakłóceń środowiskowych zarówno addytywnych jak i multiplikatywnych, wywołanych przez fale, wiatry i prądy oceaniczne. Artykuł obejmuje zagadnienie projektowania...

Automatic Detection of Nerves in Confocal Corneal Images with Orientation-Based Edge Merging
PublicationThe paper presents an algorithm for improving results of automatic nerve detections in confocal microscopy images of human corneal. The method is designed as a postprocessing step of regular detection. After the nerves are initially detected, the algorithms attempts to improve the results by filling unde-sired gaps between single nerves detections in order to correctly mark the entire nerve instead of only parts of it. This approach...

Enhancement of the Magnetoresistance in the Mobility‐Engineered Compensated Metal Pt 5 P 2
PublicationThe magnetoresistance (MR) in nonmagnetic materials continues to be a fertile research area in materials science. The search for giant, positive MR has been limited to a rather small window of materials such as high-mobility semimetals in single-crystalline form. Here, the observation of a very large positive MR in metallic Pt5P2 in polycrystalline form is reported. The observations reveal that improvement of the crystallinity...

A bisection‐based heuristic for rapid EM‐driven multiobjective design of compact impedance transformers
PublicationDesign of microwave structures is a multiobjective task where several conflicting requirements have to be considered at the same time. For contemporary circuits characterized by complex geometries, multiobjective optimization cannot be performed using standard population‐based algorithms due to high cost of electromagnetic (EM) evaluations. Curb-to-Barrier Face Distance Variation an a TB51 Bridge Barrier Crash Test Simulation
PublicationThis paper addresses the problem of road safety regarding barrier placement as relative to the curb. A short summary of existing regulations is presented. Numerical simulations using the explicit finite element system Ls- Dyna are shown. In the analysis, variable distance between the barrier and the curb is assumed. The obtained result reveals that the distance has little impact on the working width of the barrier.
