The particle method for simulation of self-organization phenomena
PublikacjaThe aim of the work was to design, implement, and use, in a number of experiments, an abstract software environment (an artificial world)suitable for modelling systems consisting of many moving and interactingobjects distributed in space. The environment, named DigiHive, is directed towards modeling of complex systems manifested by processes of self-organization, self-reproduction and self modifications. The environment is mainly...

Green function diagonal for a class of heat equations
PublikacjaA construction of the heat kernel diagonal is considered as element of generalized zeta function theory, which gradient at the origin defines determinant of a differential operator in a technique for regularizing quadratic path integral. Some classes of explicit expressions of the Green function in the case of finite-gap potential coefficient of the heat equation are constructed. An algorithm and program for Mathematica are presented...

The function of the sculpture in public space and its reception occupants of the city
PublikacjaSculpture has been with people for thousands of years. Its destiny, subject and scale have changed over the centuries. Public art, along with sculpture, began to appear in a new form (not only to commemorate important figures and events) only in the 1960s. This paper aims to answer what functions are currently performed by the sculptures located in a public space and how they are perceived by the inhabitants of the city.

A Note on Reduced Strain Gradient Elasticity
PublikacjaWe discuss the particular class of strain-gradient elastic material models which we called the reduced or degenerated strain-gradient elasticity. For this class the strain energy density depends on functions which have different differential properties in different spatial directions. As an example of such media we consider the continual models of pantographic beam lattices and smectic and columnar liquid crystals.

Efficient Complex Root Finding Algorithm for Microwave and Optical Propagation Problems
PublikacjaArticle relates to the use of innovative root finding algorithm (on a complex plane) to study propagation properties of microwave and optical waveguides. Problems of this type occur not only in the analysis of lossy structures, but also in the study of complex and leaky modes (radiation phenomena). The proposed algorithm is simple to implement and can be applied for functions with singularities and branch cuts in the complex plane...

Some new soliton solutions to the higher dimensional Burger–Huxley and Shallow water waves equation with couple of integration architectonic
PublikacjaIn this paper, we retrieve some traveling wave, periodic solutions, bell shaped, rational, kink and anti-kink type and Jacobi elliptic functions of Burger’s equation and Shallow water wave equation with the aid of various integration schemes like improved -expansion scheme and Jacobi elliptic function method respectively. We also present our solutions graphically in various dimensions.

Interconnection of the Customer-Side Resources Using Single Phase VAPF
PublikacjaThe paper introduces method for utilization of the customer-side generated energy using single phase voltage active power filter. Structure and control method of the power electronics converter has been described and some simulation results are shown to prove usefulness of this arrangements. Proposed application realizes the following functions: power quality improvement, uninterruptible supplying and energy costs reduction.

Human Factors in designing the Instrumentation and Control Systems Important to Safety
PublikacjaThis work addresses selected aspects of human factors in designing the instrumentation and control (I&C) systems important to safety as a part of the functional safety management of industrial hazardous plants, in particular nuclear power plants. As it is known in such plants a concept of “defence in depth” (D-in-D) is widely applied and some layers of protection are designed with regard to functional safety (FS) concept given...

THE FUNCTION OF GREENERY IN A SKYSCRAPER: THE PLACEMENT AND ITS INFLUENCE
PublikacjaThe contrast between the high rise buildings; with their mostly geometric shapes, and the organic form of the greenery was visible even in the idea of a skyscraper. Yet the realizations and recent projects show emerging interest and the link between them. To better understand the developing function of the greenery in the context of a skyscraper, both literature and case studies are conducted. The aim is to relate the location...

Educational and cognitive aspects of adaptation of nonuse spaces in monumental sacral objects.
PublikacjaThe area of attics and towers in historic churches in Europe are yet quite inaccessible places for visitors, shrouded in the atmosphere of mysticism, hiding many secrets. Introduction of the new public function into the non-used zones of the monumental sacral objects has many aspects including educational and cognitive ones which are discussed in the following article. The article indicates items that can be found in the zone above...

The Method of Selecting the Interval of Functional Tests Taking into Account Economic Aspects and Legal Requirements
PublikacjaThe article discusses the problem of choosing the optimal frequency of functional tests, taking into account the reliability and law requirements, but also the impact of business aspects in the company. The subject of functional test interval is well described for purposes of the process industry. Unfortunately, this is not the case for the machinery safety functions with low demand mode. This is followed by a presentation of the...

Non-Adaptive Rotor Speed Estimation of Induction Machine in an Adaptive Full-Order Observer
PublikacjaIn the sensorless control system of an induction machine, the rotor speed value is not measured but reconstructed by an observer structure. The rotor speed value can be reconstructed by the classical adaptive law with the integrator. The second approach, which is the main contribution of this paper, is the non-adaptive structure without an integrator. The proposed method of the rotor speed reconstruction is based on an algebraic...

Chemiresistive gas sensors based on carbon nanotubes - fabrication and application
PublikacjaMany types of sensors have been invented to identify and quantify chemical contamination in the gas phase. Sensors based on carbon nanotubes are particularly attractive because of their wide range of applicaions and potential use in electronic nose that can be controlled using algorithms of Artificial Intelligence. Sensor functions, fabrication and selected applications are reviewed and discussed with focus on chemiresistors. Drawbacks...

The evaluation of the vibration measurement usability of electronic indicator lemag "premet C"
PublikacjaThe measuring possibilities of modern compression and combustion pressure analyzers are extended with additional functions. One of them is parallel to the pressure measurement, the measurement of vibrations in the region of the cylinder head. The paper presents a general assessment of the vibration measurement function of the electronic indicator LEMAG "PREMET C". This feature is very rarely offered by manufacturers of these devices....
