Evaluation of propagation parameters of open guiding structures with the use of complex root finding algorithms
PublicationAn efficient complex root tracing algorithm is utilized for the investigation of electromagnetic wave propagation in open guiding structures. The dispersion characteristics of propagated and leaky waves are calculated for a couple of chosen waveguides. The efficiency of the root tracing algorithm is discuses and compared to a global root finding algorithm.

Model of heat transfer in the stagnation point of rapidly evaporating microjet
PublicationThe paper presents investigation in the single water microjet surface cooling producing evaporating film. Reported tests were conducted under steady state conditions. It was proved that the phenomenon is similar to that of pool boiling. Results of experiments were compared with predictions by the model showing a good consistency.

PublicationThe problem of multipath root tracing is being addressed in this communication. The self-adaptive complex root tracing algorithm, which was previously utilized for the investigation of various propagation and radiation problems, is analyzed here for the cases when the traced characteristic bifurcates. Influence of nanoparticle concentration on convective heat transfer of water-Al2O3 nanofluids inside horizontal tubes
PublicationThis work presents preliminary results of the experimental investigation of the forced convection heat transfer of water-Al2O3 nanofluids inside stainless steel tube with 8 mm internal diameter and 2000 mm length. Nanoparticles were tested at the concentrations of 0.01%, 0.1%, 1% and 5% by weight and the Reynolds number range encompasses laminar as well as turbulent flows.
