The application of a photopolymer material for the manufacture of machine elements using rapid prototyping techniques
PublicationThe paper discusses the application of polymer resin for 3D printing. The first section focuses on rapid prototyping technique and properties of the photopolymer, used as input material in the manufacture of machine components. Second part of the article was devoted to exemplary 3-D-printed elements for incorporation in machines. The article also contains detailed description of problems encountered in implementation of the selected...

Task Assignments in Logistics by Adaptive Multi-Criterion Evolutionary Algorithm with Elitist Selection
PublicationAn evolutionary algorithm with elitist selection has been developed for finding Pareto-optimal task assignments in logistics. A multi-criterion optimization problem has been formulated for finding a set of Pareto- optimal solutions. Three criteria have been applied for evaluation of task assignment: the workload of a bottleneck machine, the cost of machines, and the numerical performance of system. The machine constraints have...

“Shadow” vs. “Phase 3D” method within endoscopic examinations of marine engines
PublicationA visual investigation of surfaces creating internal, working spaces of marine combustion engines by means of specialized view-finders so called endoscopes is at present almost a basic method of technical diag-nostics. The surface structure of constructional material is visible during investigations like through the magnifying glass (usually with a precisely determined magnification), which makes possible a detection, recognition...

Zagospodarowanie ciepła odpadowego z biogazowych agregatów kogeneracyjnych w oczyszczalni ścieków = Waste heat utilisation from cogeneration set in sewage plant
W artykule...

Ocena efektywności monitoringu obiektów inżynierskich za pomocą sieci Bayesa
PublicationW swojej pracy autorzy zaproponowali zastosowanie sieci Bayesa do projektowania monitoringu i podejmowania decyzji w działaniach eksploatacyjnych. Ponadto pokazano dwie metody oceny wartości informacji diagnostycznych. Pierwszą z nich jest wartość oczekiwana EVSI (ang. Expected Value of Sample Information), która stanowi podstawę do wyboru spośród alternatywnych obserwacji symptomów zmiennej diagnostycznej. Natomiast drugą metodą...

MIC1-MAG1-SAG1 chimeric protein, a most effective antigen for detection of human toxoplasmosis
PublicationThis study describes a Toxoplasma gondii IgG ELISA test based on a new chimeric antigen containing three immunodominant regions from MIC1, MAG1 and SAG1 proteins of a parasite and shows that this test is useful for diagnostic purposes and may replace the lysed and whole-cell antigens.

New Two-center Ellipsoidal Basis Function Neural Network for Fault Diagnosis of Analog Electronic Circuits
PublicationIn the paper a new fault diagnosis-oriented neural network and a diagnostic method for localization of parametric faults in Analog Electronic Circuits (AECs) with tolerances is presented. The method belongs to the class of dictionary Simulation Before Test (SBT) methods. It utilizes dictionary fault signatures as a family of identification curves dispersed around nominal positions by component tolerances of the Circuit Under Test...

Guided waves for monitoring of plate structures with linear cracks of variable length
PublicationDamage occurring at the work of plate structures may grow to a considerable size. The joint action – the detection of a defect at the earliest possible stage, the monitoring of its growth and the determination of its critical size in the context of structural reliability allows optimizing the cost of the maintenance and repair of structural elements. Thus the development of monitoring systems for permanent observation of fault...

A method of Functional Test interval selection with regards to Machinery and Economical aspects
PublicationThis paper discusses the problem of choosing the optimal frequency of functional test, including the reliability calculations and production efficiency, but also the effect of company risk management. The proof test as a part of the functional test interval is well described for the process industry. Unfortunately, this situation is not the case for the machinery safety functions with low demand mode. Afterwards, it is presented...

Mathematical Modelling of Drive System with an Elastic Coupling Based on Formal Analogy between the Transmission Shaft and the Electric Transmission Line
PublicationIn the paper, the kinematic structure of the transmission shaft between the driving motor and the working mechanism is studied. The analysis is based on electrical and mechanical similarities. The equivalent circuits, typical for electrical systems, are defined for the transmission shaft concerned. Modelling of the transmission shaft based on a formal analogy between the transmission shaft and the electric transmission line is...

Analysis of inductive power transfer systems for variable air gap and voltage supply frequency
PublicationThe paper describes an IPT system, by which electrical energy may be transmitted through a large air gap between coils without electrical connection. It presents theoretical and simulation analysis of IPT, which allows for supplying a receiver in the conditions of slow, in relation to the dynamics of power supply, changes in dimension of the air gap. The influence of frequency characteristics of the system on the possible selection...
