Differential analysis of dynamic immittance spectra
PublikacjaThis work presents a new approach to the analysis of immittance spectrograms of systems characterised by non-stationarity. The possibility of linking the evolution of the immittance response with changes in the parameters describing the system is achieved by introducing a spectrum in differential form. By using the above procedure, it becomes possible to separate elements with a dependence (or lack thereof) from an independent...

Połączenie G3 dwóch kierunków prostych z użyciem krzywej NURBS
PublikacjaW artykule przedstawiono nową metodę projektowania układu geometrycznego toru kolejowego opartą na zastosowaniu krzywych NURBS (Non-Uniform Rational B-Spline) do opisu krzywizny.

Ionic liquid as morphology-directing agent of two-dimensional Bi2WO6: New insight into photocatalytic and antibacterial activity
PublikacjaAn efficient and durable utilization of light to drive photocatalytic reactions still requires the overcoming of barriers. Herein, two-dimensional (2D) ultrathin IL_Bi2WO6 (IL_BWO) photocatalysts were prepared for the first time via ionic liquid-assisted hydrothermal route by adjusting the amount of tetrabutylammonium chloride [TBA][Cl], synthesis temperature and duration. IL played the role of morphology-directing agent given...

Detection and time/frequency analysis of electric fields in the ground
PublikacjaThis paper sets out to detect and characterize electric fields in the ground (such as stray current fields) using a tandem time/frequency method of signal analysis. Results were obtained from investigations performed in the presence of a generated electric field with controlled variable characteristics, and in the presence of an electric field generated by a tramline. The analysis of measurement registers was performed using Short‐Time...

Chiral and achiral crystals, charge-assisted hydrogen-bond patterns and self-organization of selected solid diaminium thiosulfates
PublikacjaAbstract A series of diaminium thiosulfates, derivatives of diamines: NH2CH2CH(CH3)NH2 (1) and NH2(CH2)nNH2, n = 3-6 (2-5 respectively)and thiosulfuric acid were prepared and their structures determined by crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Compounds 1, 2 and 4 turned out to be hydrates. The crystal structure of 1,2-proylenediaminium thiosulfate is chiral and exhibits spontaneous resolution. Crystals for both enantiomers...

Guided Wave Propagation in Detection of Partial Circumferential Debonding in Concrete Structures
PublikacjaThe following article presents results of investigating the damage detection in reinforced concrete beams with artificially introduced debonding between the rod and cover, using a non-destructive method based on elastic waves propagation. The primary aim of the research was to analyze the possible use of guided waves in partial circumferential debonding detection. Guided waves were excited and registered in reinforced concrete...

Cost-efficient multi-objective design optimization of antennas in highly-dimensional parameter spaces
PublikacjaMulti-objective optimization of antenna structures in highly-dimensional parameter spaces is investigated. For expedited design, variable-fidelity EM simulations and domain patching algorithm are utilized. The results obtained for a monopole antenna with 13 geometry parameters are compared with surrogate-assisted optimization involving response surface approximation modeling.

Multiobjective Water Distribution Systems Control of Pumping Cost, Water Quality, and Storage-Reliability Constraints
PublikacjaThis work describes a multiobjective model for trading-off pumping cost and water quality for water distribution systems operation. Constraints are imposed on flows and pressures, on periodical tanks operation, and on tanks storage. The methodology links the multiobjective SPEA2 algorithm with EPANET, and is applied on two example applications of increasing complexity, under extended period simulation conditions and variable energy...

3D Metamaterial Ultra-Wideband Absorber for curved surface
PublikacjaThis paper proposes a three-dimensional metamaterial absorber based on a resistive film patch array to develop a low-cost, lightweight absorber for curved surfaces. An excellent absorption over a large frequency band is achieved through two different yet controllable mechanisms; In the first mechanism, a considerable attenuation in the wave power is achieved via graphite resistive films. The absorption is then intensified through...

Morphology, Thermo-Mechanical Properties and Biodegradibility of PCL/PLA Blends Reactively Compatibilized by Different Organic Peroxides
PublikacjaReactive blending is a promising approach for the sustainable development of bio-based polymer blends and composites, which currently is gaining more and more attention. In this paper, biodegradable blends based on poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) and poly(lactic acid) (PLA) were prepared via reactive blending performed in an internal mixer. The PCL and PLA content varied in a ratio of 70/30 and 55/45. Reactive modification of PCL/PLA...

Emission enhancement of Eu(III) and/or Tb(III) ions entrapped in silica xerogels with ZnO nanoparticles by energy transfer
