The nu-merical results concerning gyromagnetic coupling coefficient of ferrite coupled lines and scattering matrix of EFCL junction are presented. The obtained results are validated with the use of commercial...

Effect of Coating Material Properties on Tilting-pad Thrust Bearing Performance
PublikacjaPolymer lined tilting-pad bearings demonstrate many advantages over traditional bearing systems. Bearings with a polymer layer in comparison with a babbitted layer show, for example: lower value of friction coefficient (important during start/stops), higher fatigue strength of the coating, better distribution of the load on individual pads due to lower elasticity of the polymers, wider range of operational temperatures or the ability...

Processing, Mechanical and Morphological Properties of GTR Modified by SBS Copolymers
PublikacjaIn this work, ground tire rubber (GTR) was thermo-mechanically treated in the presence of styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) copolymers. During preliminary investigation, the effects of different SBS copolymer grades, the variable content of SBS copolymer on the Mooney viscosity, and the thermal and mechanical properties of modified GTR were determined. Subsequently, GTR modified by SBS copolymer and cross-linking agents (sulfur-based...

The effect of heating and fermenting on antioxidant properties of white cabbage
PublikacjaIt is widely believed that natural antioxidants found in food are significantly lost during processing. Nevertheless, it was recently demonstrated that processed fruits and vegetables may retain their antioxidant activity. In the present work, the changes in the overall antioxidant properties as a consequence of fermentation of cabbage and/or heat treatment of cabbage juices and extracts were studied. Fermentation processes as...

Properties of Old Concrete Built in the Former Leipziger Palace
PublikacjaThis research aims to determine the mechanical, chemical, and physical properties of old concrete used in the former Leipziger Palace in Wrocław, Poland. The cylindrical specimens were taken from the basement concrete walls using a concrete core borehole diamond drill machine. The determination of the durability and strength of old concrete was based on specified chosen properties of the old concrete obtained through the following...

Properties of Barium Cerate Thin Films Formed Using E-Beam Deposition
PublikacjaThis article focuses on the properties of the BaCeO3 thin films formed by electron-beam vapor deposition and investigates the formation of barium cerates on supports with different thermal expansion coefficients (Stainless Steel, Invar, Glass Sealing, and Inconel substrates) and the influence of the technological parameters on the properties of the formed thin films with an emphasis on the stability of the films. Morphology and...

Analysis of Denoising Autoencoder Properties Through Misspelling Correction Task
PublikacjaThe paper analyzes some properties of denoising autoencoders using the problem of misspellings correction as an exemplary task. We evaluate the capacity of the network in its classical feed-forward form. We also propose a modification to the output layer of the net, which we called multi-softmax. Experiments show that the model trained with this output layer outperforms traditional network both in learning time and accuracy. We...

Measurements of the optical and thermal properties of the 2D black phosphorus coating
PublikacjaBlack phosphorus is a 2D material, which properties are still being discovered. In this paper, the sensitivity to the temperature of a few-layer black phosphorus coating deposited, on the surface of a microsphere-based fiber-optic sensor, by a dip-coating method is presented. The coating was investigated after 2, 3, and 5 deposition cycles and during temperature growth from 50 °C to 300 °C in an interferometric setup. The intensity...

Signal conditioning for examination of shallow-water acoustic noise correlation properties
PublikacjaThe article describes the process of signal conditioning for examination of acoustic noise correlation properties in shallow water. Knowledge of these properties is very important for the design processes of passive and active hydroacoustic systems. This paper focuses on the above issue from the point of view of passive sonar. In sonar systems, signal processing algorithms operate on both useful acoustic signals, and accompanying...

Synthesis, single crystal growth and properties of Sr5Pb3ZnO12
PublikacjaAbstract The novel Sr5Pb3ZnO12 oxide was synthesized by the solid-state reaction method. The crystal structure was studied by means of the powder x-ray diffraction Rietveld method and was found to be similar to 3 other previously known Sr5Pb3MO12 compounds (M = Co, Ni, Cu). Crystals of several hundred microns in size of the new phase were grown in molten sodium chloride and imaged using confocal optical and scanning electron microscopy....

Analysis of Properties of an Active Linear Gesture Sensor
PublikacjaBasic gesture sensors can play a significant role as input units in mobile smart devices. However, they have to handle a wide variety of gestures while preserving the advantages of basic sensors. In this paper a user-determined approach to the design of a sparse optical gesture sensor is proposed. The statistical research on a study group of individuals includes the measurement of user-related parameters like the speed of a performed...
