Modal FEM Analysis of Ferrite Resonant Structures
PublikacjaThe finite-element method (FEM) is applied for modal analysis of ferrite-loaded spherical resonators. To improve the efficiency of the numerical calculations, the body-of-revolution (BOR) technique is utilized. Due to the frequency-dependent ferrite permeability, FEM leads to a nonlinear eigenvalue problem that is challenging to solve. To this end, Beyn’s method is proposed. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is confirmed...

Atomic objects are real-valued vectors in n-dimensional Euclidean space and complex statements belong to a hierarchy of multivectors. The paper reports a battery of tests aimed at comparison of GA HRR with Holographic Reduced Representation (HRR) and Binary Spatter Codes (BSC). Firstly, we perform a test of...

Flow Analysis of a Kaplan Turbine
PublikacjaThis monograph is a guide to a method of experimental and numerical flow investigations for Kaplan - type turbines. The numerical calculations were compared with the test results of the model Kaplan turbine. The tests were carried out on the model test rig in the Gdańsk University of Technology. The turbine has been thoroughly experimentally investigated, resulting in the identification of optimum setting combination of the stator...

Closer Look at the Uncertainty Estimation in Semantic Segmentation under Distributional Shift
PublikacjaWhile recent computer vision algorithms achieve impressive performance on many benchmarks, they lack robustness - presented with an image from a different distribution, (e.g. weather or lighting conditions not considered during training), they may produce an erroneous prediction. Therefore, it is desired that such a model will be able to reliably predict its confidence measure. In this work, uncertainty estimation for the task...

Effect of power frequency on the stress state of disc actuator
PublikacjaThis paper presents the concept of determining the optimum frequency of coil supply in inductive-dynamic drive. As a criterion to obtain the sought frequency, the smallest value of reduced stress in the disc was assumed while maintaining the desired dynamics. The disc stress is determined on the basis of solution of vibrating thin plate equation. Magnetic pressure acting on the disc is obtained from a hybrid circumferentially-field...

Estimators of covariance matrices in Msplit(q) estimation
PublikacjaThis paper proposes methods for the determination of covariance matrices of Msplit(q) estimators. The solutions presented here allow Msplit(q) estimation to be supplemented by the operations from the domain of accuracy analysis (especially that concerning estimators of parameters). Theoretical forms of covariance matrices of Msplit(q) estimators were established using the empirical influence functions and the equivalent covariance...

Numerical investigations of discrete crack propagation in Montevideo splitting test using cohesive elements and real concrete micro-structure
PublikacjaThe paper is aimed at accurately predicting the discrete fracture process in concrete specimens under complex stress states in two dimensional (2D) simulations. Plain concrete specimens subjected to Montevideo splitting test (MVD) were used for consideration due to non-negligible shear stresses impact in this type of test. In order to reflect the heterogeneous nature of the concrete, the meso-structure of the samples was included...

Turbulence model evaluation for numerical modelling of turbulent flow and heat transfer of nanofluids
PublikacjaIn this work, Nusselt number and friction factor are calculated numerically for turbulent pipe flow (Reynolds number between 6000 and 12000) with constant heat flux boundary condition using nanofluids. The nanofluid is modelled with the single-phase approach and the simulation results are compared with experimental data. Ethylene glycol and water, 60:40 EG/W mass ratio, as base fluid and SiO2 nanoparticles are used as nanofluid...

Reliability of production machines in the bakery industry – theoretical and practical issues
PublikacjaThe aim of the article is to present probabilistic models, which were then used to analyze the reliability of production machines in the baking industry. The author conducted research in the period from January 2, 2016 to December 31, 2018 regarding the measurement of reliability of a traditional production system based on a probabilistic concept. Due to the limited scope of the article, reliability calculations for a set of thermo-oil...

Homoclinic solutions for a class of the second order Hamiltonian systems
PublikacjaW niniejszej pracy badamy istnienie orbit homoklinicznych dlaukładu Hamiltonowskiego drugiego rzędu: q^{..} + V_{q}(t,q) = f(t), gdzie V z iloczynu kartezjańskiego R x R^{n} do R jest postaciV(t,q) = -K(t,q) + W(t,q).

Controlled Random Search Applied to Parameters Estimation of the Longitudinal Solutes Transport Model for Rivers
PublikacjaNumerical computations are presented for the longitudinal transport of passive, conservative solutes in an actual river with the inclusion of geometrical complexities of river channels. A special emphasis is put on the method of the identification of model parameters which is based on a specially designed optimisation procedure using random control search algorithm. Two different situations are considered namely a linear version...

Properties and interpretation of Instantaneous Complex Frequency
PublikacjaThe concept of Instantaneous Complex Frequency (ICF) was first defined by Lindon and developed mainly in works of two authors S. Hahn and M. Rojewski. Although it is not widely used in signal analysis, ICF was already used as a complex signal representation in the verification of handwritten signatures, pitch estimation, symbol timing recovery in PSK receiver and in detection of anomalies in data transmission. It should be noted,...
