An Efficient Noisy Binary Search in Graphs via Median Approximation
PublicationConsider a generalization of the classical binary search problem in linearly sorted data to the graph-theoretic setting. The goal is to design an adaptive query algorithm, called a strategy, that identifies an initially unknown target vertex in a graph by asking queries. Each query is conducted as follows: the strategy selects a vertex q and receives a reply v: if q is the target, then =, and if q is not the target, then v is a...

Modele symulacyjne dla sygnału pobudzającego (gaussowskiego szumu białego) zarówno szerokopasmowego jak i wąskopasmowego opracowano w środowisku programistycznym...

Determining Pronunciation Differences in English Allophones Utilizing Audio Signal Parameterization
PublicationAn allophonic description of English plosive consonants, based on audio-visual recordings of 600 specially selected words, was developed. First, several speakers were recorded while reading words from a teleprompter. Then, every word was played back from the previously recorded sample read by a phonology expert and each examined speaker repeated a particular word trying to imitate correct pronunciation. The next step consisted...

Narrowband Transmission Quality in Presence of Modified IEEE 802.15.4a UWB Signal
PublicationPublikacja przedstawia opis stanowiska laboratoryjnego użytego do badania wpływu zakłóceń impulsowych na jakość odbioru sygnałów wąskopasmowych. Przedstawione zostały przykładowe wyniki pomiaru jakości transmisji wąskopasmowych wraz z wykazaniem, że modyfikacja widma zakłócającego sygnału IR UWB powoduje poprawę jakości odbioru sygnałów wąskopasmowych.

Broadband LFM signal source for a module-based diver detection sonar
PublicationPraca przedstawia koncepcję źródła impulsów sondujących sonaru DDS, dla pogrupowanych po stronie nadawczej elementarnych sekcji przetwornika w moduły 8 lub 16 elementowe. Na podstawie oszacowania teoretycznego i pomiarów czwórnikowych określono potrzebną moc wyjściową i topologię tych nadajników. Przedstawione są też uzyskane na drodze pomiarów charakterystyki częstotliwościowe modułów przetwornika, razem z zastosowanym układem...

Local dynamics of fluids and dielectrics as the foundation of signal-carrying wave properties
PublicationThis paper develops an original approach to fundamental problems of classical linear acoustics and electromagnetics, proving a crucial role of doubly-dynamic local properties of a propagation medium in supporting wave-like fields able to carry information signals. The proof is composed of two steps concerning, subsequently, fluid acoustics and dielectric electromagnetics. The first step consists in complementing a common, practically...

Ground-based, Hyperbolic Radiolocation System with Spread Spectrum Signal - AEGIR
PublicationThe most popular radiolocation systems in the world (at present), is the American GPS (Global Positioning System). It is managed by the Department of Defense and there is always the possibility of the occasional inaccuracies or deliberate introduction of errors that prevent its use by the special services or armies of other countries than the U.S.A. This situation has spawned the need to develop an autonomous, ground-based radiolocation...

Analysis of the torque response of a car engine to the step change of the control signal
PublicationW pracy zamieszczono wyniki badań silnika samochodu osobowego w warunkach nieustalonych. Stan obciążenia silnika wynikał z realizowanego cyklu jezdnego w warunkach drogowych oraz sposobu sterowania układem napędowym. Parametry trakcyjne pojazdu mierzone były za pomocą systemu GPS z fenomenologiczną korektą sygnału wysokości, na której się on znajdował. Wybrane parametry pracy silnika mierzone były za pomocą sytemu komunikującego...
