Bismuth-based nanomaterials-assisted photocatalytic water splitting for sustainable hydrogen production
PublicationThe rapidly increase in the world's population has resulted in a corresponding increase in the energy demand. This demand is largely being met by fossil fuels for power generation, industrial fuel and transportation. However, due to the limited availability of fossil fuels and their negative effects on the environment. The use of fossil fuels results in by-products such as carbon, nitrogen and sulfur oxides which have negative...

Comprehensive thermodynamic analysis of steam storage in a steam cycle in a different regime of work: A zero-dimensional and three-dimensional approach
PublicationDue to the current trends aiming to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by increasing the use of renewable energy sources, changes are required in the operation of coal-fired steam units. The unstable nature of renewable energy sources, depending on weather conditions, means that the amount of energy produced varies and is not always in line with peak demand. To ensure the security and stability of energy supplies in the energy system,...

Experimental investigation of domestic micro-CHP based on the gas boiler fitted with ORC module
PublicationThe results of investigations conducted on the prototype of vapour driven micro-CHP unit integrated with a gas boiler are presented. The system enables cogeneration of heat and electric energy to cover the energy demand of household. The idea of such system is to produce electricity for own demand or for selling it to the electric grid – in such situation the system user will became the prosumer. A typical commercial gas boiler,...

Application of Doubly Connected Dominating Sets to Safe Rectangular Smart Grids
PublicationSmart grids, together with the Internet of Things, are considered to be the future of the electric energy world. This is possible through a two-way communication between nodes of the grids and computer processing. It is necessary that the communication is easy and safe, and the distance between a point of demand and supply is short, to reduce the electricity loss. All these requirements should be met at the lowest possible cost....

Multifunctional catalyst-assisted sustainable reformation of lignocellulosic biomass into environmentally friendly biofuel and value-added chemicals
PublicationRapid urbanization is increasing the world's energy demand, making it necessary to develop alternative energy sources. These growing energy needs can be met by the efficient energy conversion of biomass, which can be done by various means. The use of effective catalysts to transform different types of biomasses will be a paradigm change on the road to the worldwide goal of economic sustainability and environmental protection. The...

A review on homogeneous and heterogeneous catalytic microalgal lipid extraction and transesterification for biofuel production
PublicationExtracting lipids from microalgal biomass presents significant potential as a cost-effective approach for clean energy generation. This can be achieved through the chemical conversion of lipids to produce fatty acid methyl esters via transesterification. The extraction mainly involves free fatty acids, phospholipids, and triglycerides, and requires less energy, making it an attractive option for satisfying the growing demand for...

OCENA MOŻLIWOŚCI WYKORZYSTANIA CHARAKTERYSTYK ENERGETYCZNYCH PROCESU DO PRZEWIDYWANIA WSKAŹNIKÓW ENERGETYCZNYCH NA BIEŻĄCO
PublicationW artykule autorka zaprezentowała możliwości wykorzystania charakterystyk energetycznych procesu do bieżącej kontroli wskaźników energetycznych. Metoda bieżącej kontroli wskaźników wykorzystuje jako wartości porównawcze wskaźniki wyznaczane na podstawie charakterystyk energetycznych procesów. Metoda ma przede wszystkim mieć zastosowanie do wczesnego wykrywania i eliminowania nadmiernego, nieracjonalnego zużycia nośników energii...

Analysis of the Impact of Charging Electric Cars on the Power System Load
PublicationThe paper presents ways of integrating electric cars with the power system. In connection with this, daily load curves in the average working day have been developed in the G2V (Grid-to-Vehicle) and V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid) variants. The G2V solution consists in unidirectional energy flow from the power system to a vehicle’s battery. The V2G solution consists in bi-directional energy exchange between the power system and electric...

PUBLICZNE ŚRODKI TRANSPORTOWE A SAMOCHÓD ELEKTRYCZNY W OBSŁUDZE PODRÓŻY MIEJSKICH W METROPOLII TRÓJMIEJSKIEJ
Natomiast autobusy i trolejbusy utykające...
