PublicationThe objective of this work was to determine electric transport in the organic device based on a planar junction of electron donor and electron acceptor materials, namely ITO/MoO3/DBP/F16ZnPc/BCP/Ag. The analysis reported herein was based on direct current-voltage measurements and small-signal admittance spectra in the dark and under illumination. Such analysis may provide information on potential barriers, parasitic resistances...

Experimental investigation of dryout of SES36, R134a, R123 and ethanol in vertical small diameter tubes
PublicationW publikacji przedstawiono wyniki badań eksperymentalnych kryzysu wrzenia typu dryout podczas wrzenia w przepływie czterech czynników (SES36, R134a, R123, alkohol etylowy) w kanałach o średnicy wewnętrznej 1.15 mm i 2.3 mm. Badania przeprowadzono w szerokim zakresie zmian stopnia suchości pary (0.65-1), gęstości strumienia masy (40-900 kg/(m2s)) i gęstości strumienia ciepła (20-220 kW/m2). W badaniach wykorzystano technikę termowizyjną...

Liquid crystal thermography and true-colour digital image processing
PublicationAutorzy opisali własne wieloletnie doświadczenia z badań wymiany ciepła, w których wykorzystali termochromatyczne ciekłe kryształy. Obejmowały one badania przepływów w kanałach o różnorakiej konfiguracji, badania w przestrzeniach zamkniętych oraz podczas zmiany stanu skupienia badanego płynu.

The image of the Baltic States as perceived by the students of Gdańsk University of Technology

Boron-doped carbon nanowalls for fast and direct detection of cytochrome C and ricin by matrix-free laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry
PublicationDetecting proteins via surface assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry (SALDI-MS) method is still highly challenging, and only few examples of nanomaterials have been demonstrated to perform such detection so far. In this study, carbon nanowalls (CNWs), vertically aligned graphene sheet-based materials, presenting specific morphology, dimensions, and boron doping levels have shown improved performances for both qualitative...

A prototype femtosecond laser system for MEMS fabrication
Publicationn this article, the concept of a prototype femtosecond laser micromachining system and a femtosecond solid-state Yb:KYW laser is presented. Ultrashort laser pulses have many advantages over the long pulses in laser micromachining, due to their unique ability to interact with different materials without transferring heat to them. This allows very precise and pure laser-processing, clean cuts and sharp edges. A femtosecond laser...

Nodal models of Pressurized Water Reactor core for control purposes – A comparison study
PublicationThe paper focuses on the presentation and comparison of basic nodal and expanded multi-nodal models of the Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) core, which includes neutron kinetics, heat transfer between fuel and coolant, and internal and external reactivity feedback processes. In the expanded multi-nodal model, the authors introduce a novel approach to the implementation of thermal power distribution phenomena into the multi-node...

The use of liquid crystal thermography TLC and particle image velocimetry PIV in selected technical applications
PublicationNowadays, the energy cost is very high and this problem is carried out to seek techniques for improvement of the aerothermal and thermal (heat flow) systems performances in different technical applications. The transient and steady-state techniques with liquid crystals for the surface temperature and heat transfer coefficient or Nusselt number distribution measurements have been developed. The flow pattern produced by transverse...
