Direct detection of quantum entanglement
PublicationBasing on positive maps separability criterion we propose the experimentally viable, direct detection of quantum entanglement. It is efficient and does not require any a priori knowledge about the state. For two qubits it provides a sharp (i.e., “if and only if”) separability test and estimation of amount of entanglement. We view this method as a new form of quantum computation, namely, as a decision problem with quantum data structure.

Burnout as a State: Random-Intercept Cross-Lagged Relationship Between Exhaustion and Disengagement in a 10-Day Study
PublicationBackground: Burnout has been traditionally seen as a chronic and stable state in response to prolonged stress. However, measures of momentary burnout are not well established, even though the within-person approach suggests that the symptoms of burnout may vary from day to day for the same employee. The aim of this study is to examine the daily inter- and intra-personal variability of the symptoms of burnout and the cross-lagged relationship...

Efektywność przewodowego transportu paliw gazowych. Część 1
PublicationW pracy przeprowadzono badanie możliwości podwyższenia efektywności transportu rurociągowego gazu ziemnego. Przeanalizowano różnorodne aspekty z zakresu procedur projektowania. Zaproponowano modele określania kosztów kapitałowych (inwestycyjnych) i kosztów zmiennych. Określono równania jednostkowych kosztów całkowitych (rocznych), które poddano „quasi-optymalizacji”, w celu wyznaczenia średnic racjonalnych dla gazociągów.

Revision of Biological Methods for Determination of EDC Presence and Their Endocrine Potential
PublicationEndocrine-disrupting compounds (EDC) are chemicals responsible for disturbances in the hormonal balance of organisms. This group of chemicals includes both egzogenic and endogenic substances or their mixtures that impact functioning of natural hormones in organisms. In the available literature one can find information on the application of chromatographic and related techniques in the analysis of environmental samples for detection,...

Threshold photoelectron studies of isoxazole over the energy range 9.9-30 eV
PublicationThe threshold photoelectron spectrum of the isoxazole molecule, C3H3NO has been measured over the photon energy range 9.9-30 eV with the use of synchrotron radiation. In the 9.9-10.8 eV range, corresponding to photoionization from the highest occupied molecular orbital 3a"(π3), seven well resolved vibrational series have been observed and their modes are tentatively assigned. A strong adiabatic ionization, with an energy of 11.132...

Testing Watermark Robustness against Application of Audio Restoration Algorithms
PublicationThe purpose of this study was to test to what extent watermarks embedded in distorted audio signals are immune to audio restoration algorithm performing. Several restoration routines such as noise reduction, spectrum expansion, clipping or clicks reduction were applied in the online website system. The online service was extended with some copyright protection mechanisms proposed by the authors. They contain low-level music features...

Visualizing spatially decomposed intermolecular correlations in the infrared spectra of aprotic liquids
PublicationInfrared (IR) spectroscopy is commonly used to study intermolecular interactions in the liquid phase, including solvation phenomena. On the other hand, ab initio molecular dynamics (AIMD) simulations offer the possibility to obtain IR spectra from first principles. Surpassing the experiment, AIMD simulations can deliver additional information on the spatial intermolecular correlations underlying the IR spectrum of the liquid. Although...

Dissociative electron attachment to benzoic acid (C7H6O2)
PublicationThe dissociative electron attachment (DEA) to benzoic acid (C6H5COOH) has been studied using an experimental crossed beam setup of a quadrupole mass spectrometer and a trochoidal electron monochromator. Relative partial cross sections for the DEA to produce negative ion fragments show the main channels for dissociation. The comparison of the present results with the ultraviolet photoelectron spectrum of benzoic acid [J. Meeks,...
